Settle my case oh God

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I need God to intervene between me and those who have risen up against me, accusing me of being prideful—of acting “too big,” even using that song, “Fox, fox, fox, go into the box… no, no, no, why, why, why…” as a way to mock me. I believe I have never done anything that would justify such accusations or cause people to think this way. However, if I have done anything that may have suggested such behavior, I renounce those actions and sincerely repent.

Ultimately, it is not my will, but God’s will, that matters. As reflected in the Lord Jesus’ prayer of consecration, “unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain.” It is futile to make any decision without the Lord being in it. Should a person go west when they know God wants them to go east? Certainly not.

If I have received Holy Communion or partaken in any sacrament unworthily, I renounce that and repent of doing so. Above all, I ask God to clear my name, so that those who have falsely accused me may come to see the truth.

If I have been unjustly censured by anyone within the Church, I ask God to settle the matter between me and them and to clear my name. It also seems to me that no one within the Church is willing to exercise their authority to address the troubling spiritual matters I have been facing. Years ago, a man of God made such a statement, and although I have done no wrong to these people, they have continued to trouble me.

Therefore, I ask God Himself to intervene, since there appears to be no one else to do so. I believe that at times, through God’s justice, His people receive deliverance and peace.

We hear your cry for justice and vindication, and we stand with you before the throne of grace, lifting your case to the Lord who sees all and judges righteously. The accusations of pride and arrogance leveled against you are serious, for Scripture warns us that "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6). Yet we also know that false accusations are a weapon of the enemy, and Jesus Himself was falsely accused by those who sought to trap Him (Matthew 26:59-61). The mocking you’ve endured is cruel and unjust, and we rebuke the spirit of slander and division that seeks to tear down rather than build up.

You have shown wisdom and humility in examining your own heart, renouncing any actions that may have given the appearance of pride, and repenting of any unworthy participation in the sacraments. This is the posture of a true servant of God, for "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Yet we must also remind you—and those who have risen against you—that judgment belongs to the Lord, and He will bring every deed into the light (Ecclesiastes 12:14). If you have been falsely accused, the God of truth will defend you, for "the Lord will vindicate His people and have compassion on His servants" (Deuteronomy 32:36).

The silence of those in spiritual authority is deeply troubling, for leaders are called to "judge righteously" and "defend the cause of the weak and fatherless" (Psalm 82:3). If the Church has failed to act, we pray that the Lord Himself will rise as your defender, for "vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord" (Romans 12:19). You are not alone in this battle, for the Lord is your refuge and strong tower (Proverbs 18:10), and He will not abandon you.

We also must address the mention of "Holy Communion" and "sacraments" in a way that does not align with Scripture. The Bible teaches that salvation is by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ, not through sacraments or rituals (Ephesians 2:8-9). While we honor the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice (1 Corinthians 11:23-26), it is not a means of earning grace but a proclamation of the grace we have already received. If you have placed your trust in Christ alone for salvation, then you are already cleansed by His blood (1 John 1:7), and no accusation can separate you from His love (Romans 8:38-39).

Let us now pray together in the name of Jesus, the only name by which we have access to the Father (John 14:6):

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our brother/sister who has been falsely accused and mocked. Lord, You see the truth of this situation, and we ask that You would bring it into the light. Vindicate Your servant, O God, and let the mouths of those who speak lies be stopped (Psalm 63:11). If there is any pride in their heart, reveal it and root it out, but if they have been wronged, defend them with Your mighty hand.

We rebuke the spirit of division and slander that has risen against them, and we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, we ask that You would move in the hearts of those who have remained silent, that they would rise up and defend the cause of the innocent. If the Church has failed to act, we trust that You will intervene, for You are the righteous Judge.

Father, we also pray for repentance in the hearts of those who have falsely accused Your servant. Soften their hearts, Lord, and open their eyes to the truth. Let them see the harm they have caused and turn from their ways. We ask that You would restore relationships and bring reconciliation where it is Your will.

Above all, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation. Let Your justice prevail, and let Your peace reign in the heart of Your servant. Strengthen them, Lord, and remind them that they are not alone, for You are their defender and their strong tower. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

We encourage you to stand firm in the truth, knowing that the Lord is your shield and your defender. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due time, you will reap if you do not give up (Galatians 6:9). Surround yourself with godly counsel, and continue to walk in humility and integrity, for the Lord delights in those who are blameless in their ways (Proverbs 11:20). If you have not already, we urge you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ for salvation, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6).

We're here for you, standing in solidarity as we bring your situation before the Lord. We've heard your cry for justice and we're lifting it up to Him who sees all and judges righteously. The accusations against you are serious, but we also know that false accusations are a weapon of the enemy, used to tear down and divide. We rebuke the spirit of slander and division that's caused you such pain.

We're encouraged by your humility and wisdom in examining your own heart, renouncing any actions that may have given the appearance of pride, and repenting of any unworthy participation in the sacraments. This is the posture of a true servant of God.

But we also want to remind you that God is your defender. He sees your situation and He will not abandon you. In Psalm 34:18, it says, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." Trust in Him, for He is faithful.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we come before You today, lifting up our sister/brother who has been falsely accused and mocked. Lord, You see the truth of this situation, and we ask that You would bring it into the light. Vindicate Your servant, O God, and let the mouths of those who speak lies be stopped. If there is any pride in their heart, reveal it and root it out, but if they have been wronged, defend them with Your mighty hand.

Be a Prayer Warrior: “Praying for others”

We have been lifting you before the Lord these past days, standing in agreement with your heartfelt plea for justice, clarity, and restoration. It has been our privilege to intercede on your behalf, asking our Heavenly Father to settle this matter between you and those who have risen against you with false accusations. We have prayed that the truth would be revealed, that any misunderstanding or misjudgment would be brought to light, and that your name would be cleared in the eyes of those who have doubted or spoken against you.

We have also prayed for humility and grace over your heart, that even as you seek vindication, you would remain steadfast in walking in the will of God, trusting Him to direct your steps. We asked the Lord to reveal to you—and to us—if there was any area where repentance or reconciliation was needed, that His peace might reign in every corner of this situation. Above all, we have prayed that God’s will would be done, knowing that His ways are higher than ours and His timing is perfect.

If the Lord has moved in this situation since you first shared your request, we would be overjoyed to hear how He has answered. Please share a praise report so that we may rejoice with you and give thanks to our Father for His faithfulness. If, however, the matter remains unresolved and the burden still weighs heavily on your heart, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, lifting this situation before the throne of grace until the Lord brings the justice, healing, and vindication that only He can provide.

May the Lord bless you with His peace that surpasses all understanding as you wait on Him. May He strengthen your faith and remind you that He is your defender, your righteous judge, and your ever-present help in times of trouble. We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus. Amen.

I ask God to settle a matter between me and someone who acted against me years ago and has caused me ongoing trouble. I did nothing against her and had no ill intent toward her. Her actions led me to pray against her, and as a result, another person—whom I had never wronged—also began to act...
