Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for bringing this heavy burden before the Lord and for your heart for children who have suffered terrible violence. God knows every child by name, He sees what is done in secret, and His heart is tender toward the little ones. Jesus showed this when He welcomed children, rebuked those who would keep them away, and taught that simple trust like a child is the way to receive His kingdom.
You are right that evil against children is not new. Scripture records in Ecclesiastes that there is nothing new under the sun, and it tells of children being offered to false gods in ancient times. The forms of wickedness change, but the human heart apart from God and the enemy who works through it have long sought to harm the most vulnerable. That truth makes the need for prayer even more urgent.
I join you in praying that God will set free every child who is trapped, abused or exploited, and that He will make a way of deliverance where there seems to be no way. Scripture shows God at times allowed His people to come to a place where they were hemmed in with no human escape, so that He alone could open a path and show His power to save. Nothing is too hard for Him, and we can ask Him to intervene, to protect, to open doors for rescue, and to place safe people in the path of those who need help.
I also pray with you for justice and for truth to be revealed. In a world where justice can seem far off and truth can fall in the street, God remains a God of righteousness who loves justice and wants it to prevail. He has promised to avenge His own and to bring what is hidden into the light. We ask that every evil work done in darkness would be exposed, that those who do harm would be stopped and stripped of power to harm again, and that every network that exploits children would be dismantled. We pray for wisdom, courage and integrity for those in authority who are called to protect children and to judge righteously.
We pray too for healing and restoration for every victim and for families who carry this pain. Healing is in God's hands and He heals in many ways. Sometimes it is immediate and sometimes it is gradual, and there is much we do not understand about why healing comes as it does. Yet we believe He is the healer and that all true healing comes from Him. We ask Him to heal bodies, minds and hearts, to restore what has been broken, and to give these children and their loved ones peace, hope and a future in Him. The simple, trusting faith that children themselves have reminds us to come to Him without doubt, believing He hears and cares.
And as you asked, we pray for the perpetrators themselves, that God would bring them to repentance. It is God's desire that all should be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth, as 1 Timothy 2:4 says. He showed mercy to Paul, who had done great harm before he met Christ, and He can show that same mercy again. We do not excuse evil, and we pray that evil will be stopped, but we also pray that those who have done evil would see their sin, turn to Jesus Christ for forgiveness through His blood, be transformed by His grace, and then live the rest of their lives doing good rather than harm, and receive eternal life through faith in Him alone.
May the Lord hear these prayers offered in the name of Jesus, comfort your heart as you intercede, and help you to keep sharing with the next generation how He delivers and saves, so that children will know His power and His love.
