Set free for all children of victims of violent crime

Shalom, I have read about terrible things being done to children—for instance, regarding adrenochrome. Solomon says there is nothing new under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). In ancient times, children were sacrificed to Moloch (2 Kings 16:3); why should it be any different today? But God can do anything, and He will do it if we ask Him in the name of Jesus! Could you please pray that all children—God knows every one of them—may be set free, healed, and restored? Please pray that the perpetrators are stopped and stripped of their power, that everything is brought to light, and that every pedophile ring is dismantled—in the name of Jesus, and by the blood of Christ, in the name of Jesus! Please also pray that the perpetrators themselves might repent, receive the same grace as Paul, and go on to do more good with the rest of their lives than the harm they have caused—and that they may attain eternal life; for it is God’s desire that they, too, should be saved (1 Timothy 2:4)—in the name of Jesus. We join with you in this burden and we bring it before the throne of grace together in the name of Jesus, for your heart for these precious children reflects the heart of God Himself.

You are right to be grieved by the evil done to children, and Scripture shows us that God is deeply grieved as well. You rightly remember that what has been is that which shall be, and that which has been done is that which shall be done, and there is no new thing under the sun Ecclesiastes 1:9. The sacrifice of children to Molech was an abomination to the Lord, as it is written he made his son to pass through the fire, according to the abominations of the nations whom Yahweh cast out 2 Kings 16:3 and again You shall not give any of your children to make them pass through the fire to Molech Leviticus 18:21. God has not changed, and He still sees every child and every hidden deed. Behold, children are a heritage of Yahweh Psalm 127:3 and Jesus said Allow the little children to come to me, and do not hinder them, for the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to ones like these Matthew 19:14. How much more does He notice when they suffer harm, for Jesus also warned whoever will cause one of these little ones who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for him if a huge millstone were hung around his neck and that he were sunk in the depths of the sea Matthew 18:6.

We do not know every detail of what is hidden in darkness, but God does, and we take comfort that nothing is hidden that will not be revealed, nor anything secret that will not be known and come to light Luke 8:17. We pray that He who is light will expose every work of darkness, that every chain will be broken and every network of exploitation will be dismantled. We pray for the authorities whom God has ordained, for he is a servant of God to you for good, but he is an avenger for wrath to him who does evil Romans 13:4, that they would be given wisdom, courage and resources to rescue the captives, to defend the weak and the fatherless, maintain the rights of the poor and oppressed, rescue the weak and needy, deliver them out of the hand of the wicked Psalm 82:3-4.

We pray together now for every child you have lifted up, known fully by God even when unknown to us.

Father in heaven, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and by the blood of the Lamb shed for us, we ask You to set free every child held in violence, abuse and captivity. We ask You to surround them with Your presence, to heal the broken hearted and bind up their wounds Psalm 147:3, to restore what the locust has eaten Joel 2:25. Pour out Your Spirit of adoption upon them, that they may know they are not forgotten but dearly loved, and bring godly protectors and healers into their lives to nurture them in safety. Let Your justice roll on like waters Amos 5:24, strip the perpetrators of their power, frustrate their plans, bring all that is done in secret into the light, and let every pedophile ring and work of exploitation be dismantled and brought to nothing. We ask that You stop the hand of the evildoer and that vengeance which belongs to You alone Romans 12:19 would be executed righteously.

And Father, as You have laid on our sister or brother's heart, we also pray for the perpetrators themselves, for You desire all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth 1 Timothy 2:4 and You do not desire that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance 2 Peter 3:9. We remember how Saul who persecuted Your people became Paul the apostle by Your grace, for Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief 1 Timothy 1:15. We ask that by Your Holy Spirit You would bring deep conviction, that they would repent and turn from their wicked way Ezekiel 18:23, that they would receive forgiveness through faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved Acts 4:12, and that the rest of their lives would bear fruit worthy of repentance Matthew 3:8 and bring forth good to overcome the evil they have done. If it is Your will, grant them eternal life through Jesus our Lord.

We thank You that we can ask these things in the name of Jesus, for whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son John 14:13, and we trust not in our own asking but in Your perfect will and power, for this is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us 1 John 5:14. We rest in Your promise that You are near to all those who call on You in truth Psalm 145:18 and that You will never leave nor forsake Your little ones.

We continue to stand with you in prayer, trusting God to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think Ephesians 3:20, in Jesus' name.

We hear how heavy this burden for children has been on your heart, and we are grateful for your compassion in bringing them before the Lord. Wanting every child to be safe, set free, and restored, and wanting evil to be exposed and stopped, is a right and tender prayer.

We join you in that. We do not have answers for all the darkness you have read about, but we rest in what we do know, that God sees each child fully and loves each one more deeply than we can. He is both just and merciful, able to bring healing where there has been deep wounding, to protect the vulnerable, and to work through those who seek justice with wisdom and courage.

If this burden stays with you, one steady way to live it out alongside prayer is to support faithful, on the ground work in your own community, a trusted child advocacy center, foster care ministry, or victim support organization. And if you ever become aware of a child who may be in immediate danger, please contact local authorities or child protective services right away so help can come quickly.

Father, we bring every child who has been harmed before You and ask for Your protection, healing and restoration over their lives. Bring what is hidden into the light, stop those who do harm and take away their power to hurt others, and give wisdom and courage to those who carry responsibility for justice and care. Work in the hearts of those who have done evil that they would turn from it and receive Your grace, and comfort all who carry this grief as they pray. In Jesus name, amen.

Your burden for children who suffer violence has been laid before the Lord, and we join you in prayer at the throne of grace for them.

We entreat the God who searches the hearts and tries the reins of the children of men, who sees every child and knows each one by name, that He would set free those who are oppressed, bring hidden things to light, and break the power of evil. As you have remembered, there is nothing new under the sun, and the ancient abomination of offering children to Moloch still reveals the deep depravity of the human heart. We pray that the Lord in His justice would restrain violence, strip wickedness of its power, expose what is done in darkness, and dismantle every work that preys upon the innocent. We ask that He who heals the broken hearted and binds up their wounds would bring healing and restoration to every wounded child, to every bereaved parent, and to all who bear the pain of such cruelty. May the Good Physician give a word in season to bleeding spirits, and may His sovereign love visit those who have become as a dry and thirsty desert, that they may find comfort in Christ.

We also join you in praying for the perpetrators, that they may be saved, for God desires that sinners turn and live. Yet we must pray for a true work of grace, not a transient or superficial sorrow. There must be sorrow for sin and hatred of it in true repentance. Many repent but for a season, while they see the immediate evil of sin in its results, and then return to it. Judgments alone do not change the heart, for men may suffer under the scourges of God's hand and yet not be made better, saying unto God, Depart from us. True repentance hates sin as sin, because Christ was nailed to the cross for it, and turns from it with purpose of heart. It is the gift of the Spirit of God, inseparable from faith which admits Christ to be the sole master of the heart and trusts alone in His blood for remission.

We therefore pray not for a repentance that merely fears punishment, but for that repentance which stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven, and then repents more than before, that which purges the soul from dead works and fills it with living works. We pray that the goodness of God which ought to lead men to repentance may be known to them, that they may hear His gracious invitation, Turn, O backsliding children, and return with their whole heart. If they truly repent and believe, there is real atonement and real salvation through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. His entrance into heaven is the entrance of all His people, for He is their Representative. Whoever wholly trusts himself in the hands of Christ shall see God's salvation.

So we pray, Lord, bring deliverance to the oppressed, comfort to the wounded, justice where there has been violence, and light where there has been darkness. And grant, if it be Your will, that those who have done great evil may come to such true repentance and faith that they loathe the sin they once loved, receive forgiveness through the blood of Christ without money and without price, and henceforth walk in newness of life, doing good to the praise of Your grace. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, trusting not in our worthiness but in His finished work. Amen.

We have received your burden for children who have suffered terrible violence and we join you in bringing it before the Lord.

Scripture shows that the evil you name is not new. As you quoted, Solomon says there is nothing new under the sun, and the prophets tell us that children were once sacrificed to Moloch. God saw that evil then and He sees every child now. Not one is forgotten by Him, and His heart is for their deliverance, healing and restoration.

We pray together in the name of Jesus Christ, our only Savior, and by His blood shed on the cross:

Father in heaven, we ask You to set free every child who is held, harmed or hidden in darkness. Where there is captivity, bring release. Where there is wounding, bring healing. Where there is trauma, bring restoration and wholeness in Christ. Let every hidden work of evil be brought into the light, for You are the righteous Judge who will reveal what is done in secret. We ask that You stop the hands of those who do violence, strip them of power to harm, frustrate their plans and dismantle every network that preys on children. Establish Your justice on the earth and protect the vulnerable by Your mighty hand.

We also pray as you asked, according to 1 Timothy 2:4 which says God desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. We ask that even those who have done great evil would be brought to true repentance. Your word teaches that repentance has great force and is able to set free even one who has fallen into the depth of wickedness, if he will lay hold on it and allow Christ to be formed in him again. As You showed mercy to Paul, who once persecuted Your people and afterward received grace to do much good, we pray that those who have sinned grievously would come under conviction, turn from their sin, confess it fully, accept just consequences, and receive forgiveness through faith in Jesus alone. Grant them a new heart that seeks to repair what can be repaired and to walk in newness of life, that they also may attain eternal life.

At the same time we remember that Your word warns that the one who hardens his heart and will not be softened by goodness nor turned back by fear treasures up wrath for himself against the day of wrath and revelation of Your righteous judgment. You have shown long patience and called all to repentance, but Your judgment is just and You will give to each according to what is right. So we pray that none would presume on Your grace, but that all would respond while there is time.

We ask all this trusting not in our own words but in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, who alone saves, who alone heals, and who alone will judge with perfect righteousness and mercy. May the Lord comfort you as you intercede, keep you steadfast in prayer and in careful hearing of His word, and give you peace as you trust His power to deliver and to judge rightly.
