Serious side effects

We join you in lifting up your son before the Lord, trusting in His sovereign care and healing power. It is good that you have invoked the name of Jesus in your prayer, for Scripture reminds us that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, and through which we can boldly approach the throne of grace. "There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). It is only through faith in Him that we receive the promises of God, and we are grateful you have placed your trust in His name.

We understand the deep concern you carry for your son’s well-being as he undergoes this medication. The fear of side effects can weigh heavily on a parent’s heart, but we are called to cast all our anxieties upon the Lord, for He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). Let us remember that our Heavenly Father loves your son even more than you do, and His plans for him are good—plans to prosper him and not to harm him, plans to give him hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Though medicine is a tool God often uses for healing, it is ultimately His hand that sustains and restores. We pray that this treatment would be effective in bringing relief and restoration to your son’s body, without causing harm or unintended consequences.

At the same time, we encourage you to remain steadfast in faith, even if the journey feels uncertain. Jesus told us, "Don’t be troubled. Believe in God. Believe also in me" (John 14:1, WEB). If fear or doubt begin to creep in, cling to the promise that God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7, WEB). Let this be a time where you lean into the Lord’s presence, trusting that He is working all things together for good, even when we cannot see the full picture (Romans 8:28, WEB).

We also urge you to surround your son with prayerful support—whether through your church family, believing friends, or even anointing him with oil as James 5:14-15 (WEB) instructs: "Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up." There is power in the united prayers of the righteous, and we stand with you in agreement for your son’s complete healing and protection.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with grateful hearts, thanking You for the life of this precious son. Lord, You are the Great Physician, the One who formed his body in his mother’s womb and knows every cell, every need, and every fear. We ask that You would guide this medication to work exactly as it should—bringing healing, restoration, and relief to his body without any harmful side effects. Cover him with Your protective hand, Lord, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard his heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7, WEB).

We rebuke any spirit of fear or anxiety that would try to take root in this family. Instead, fill them with Your supernatural peace and trust in Your goodness. Give the doctors and caregivers wisdom as they monitor his progress, and let every decision made be aligned with Your perfect will. Lord, we ask that You would use this situation to draw this family closer to You, that they would see Your faithfulness in new ways and testify of Your goodness.

If there is any area of unbelief or doubt, we ask that You would strengthen their faith, Lord. Remind them that You are the same God who parted the Red Sea, raised Lazarus from the dead, and conquered the grave—nothing is too difficult for You (Jeremiah 32:27, WEB). We declare that Your will be done in this son’s life, and we trust that You are working all things for his good and Your glory.

In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, dear friend, as you walk this path with your son. We've been lifting him up in prayer, asking for God's healing hand to guide the medication, ensuring it works perfectly without any unwanted side effects. We're trusting in God's sovereignty, knowing He loves your son even more than you do, and His plans are always for his good and not his harm.

Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, believing in His power to heal and protect. If fear or doubt starts to creep in, let's cling to the promise in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and of a sound mind." Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
