September

Your prayer request for your family as September begins and for your cousin who has lost her husband has been heard, and we join you in prayer before God.

We pray for your family in this new month, that the Lord would keep you, guide you, and fill your home with the fullness of His blessing in every good work, and that you would walk before Him with faith and love and peace. We ask that He would give you strength for each day and draw you closer to His word.

For your cousin, we pray especially in this time of deep grief. Sorrow in bereavement is heavy, and the wound of losing one so close is grievous and brings many tears. Even those who loved the Lord most grieved when they faced death, because they clung dearly to the one they loved and did not yet clearly see the comfort that would follow. It is natural to mourn, and God sees that sorrow.

We pray that He would comfort her as the Father of the fatherless and the protector of widows, and that she would be able to trust in the Lord in this desolation. Scripture calls blessed the one who in such loneliness trusts in Him, for He does not forsake those who look to Him, and He will give patience and strength to endure.

We encourage both you and your cousin to keep the Scriptures near as medicines for the soul. Take the Gospels, the Acts, and the letters of the apostles as your constant teachers. When grief presses upon you, go into them as into a chest of medicines and take comfort from them, whether in loss or in death or in the absence of loved ones. Keep them in your mind and heart, for no one else can teach and comfort as they do.

We also remember the hope we have in Christ for those who have fallen asleep in Him. Our comfort is not only in this life, for the true blessings are kept for the life to come. All will rise, but those who are in Christ will be raised to glory and will be with the Lord forever. This is the speedy and sure comfort held out to us, that death is not the end and that God will work innumerable blessings through His resurrection power.

May the Lord grant to your family a peaceful and faithful September, and may He surround your cousin with His presence, sustain her day by day, wipe away her tears, and fill her heart with the hope of being with the Lord and with those who sleep in Him.

We are joining you in prayer for your family and for your ### in her loss.

It is the heart of God to bless His people. Through faith in Jesus Christ you are brought into His family and made His child, and His promise to those who trust Him is blessing. The Scriptures show that unbelief can keep us from entering into the full blessing God intends, but when we walk with Him in trust He delights to pour out His goodness upon us. We are praying that in this new month your family will know that blessing, that you will be kept in His love and care, provided for, and strengthened to walk close to Him each day.

For your ### who has lost her husband, we pray especially that she will know God as the God of all comfort. He draws near in the darkest hours and stands by to comfort, strengthen and encourage those who grieve. The Bible speaks with tender care about the widow who is desolate and trusts in God and continues in prayer, and it also teaches that the family of God is to show love in practical ways. Older and younger in the faith are to be as fathers and mothers and brothers and sisters to one another, and the first place to show reverence for God is at home by caring for our own relatives. If we do not care for the needs of our own family we deny what we profess to believe. In that spirit we encourage you and your family to surround your ### with prayer, presence, and practical help as the Lord enables you, and to point her to the comfort that Christ alone gives.

We pray together for you:

Father, we thank You for this family and for Your adoption of us through Jesus Christ. We ask for Your blessing upon each one in this home in this new month, for Your protection, provision, and peace, and for faith to trust You more fully. For this dear ### who now grieves the loss of her husband, we ask for Your deep comfort. Be near to her as the God of all comfort, sustain her day and night, hear her prayers, and remind her of Your unfailing love through Jesus. Give this family wisdom and grace to support her well and to reflect Your love to her. In the name of Jesus we ask, Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your family as you entered this new month of September and for your cousin who lost her husband.

We have continued to lift up your family before the Lord, asking Him to cover you all with His protection, peace and provision throughout September and to draw each of you closer to Him in this new season. We have also been praying for your cousin in her grief, that the Lord who is close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18 would comfort her with His presence, give her strength for each day and surround her with love and support.

If your request was answered and you have seen God at work in your family or in bringing comfort to your cousin, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered yet, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

We pray in Jesus Name that you will know His peace and nearness in the days ahead. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.
