We come before the Lord with this request, seeking His wisdom and clarity in understanding His Word and His plan for families. The question seems to ask about God’s message "first" and what His message was before and after a certain time, as well as His "autobiography" in the context of family lineage. While the phrasing is unclear, we will address the heart of the matter—God’s eternal Word, His plan for families, and His revelation of Himself through history.
First and foremost, we must affirm that God’s Word is eternal and unchanging. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1:1). This Word became flesh and dwelt among us in the person of Jesus Christ (John 1:14). He is the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End (Revelation 22:13). There is no time before or after God, for He is outside of time. He has always existed, and His Word stands forever.
In Genesis, we see God’s first message to humanity—His command to be fruitful and multiply, to fill the earth, and to steward it wisely (Genesis 1:28). This establishes the family as the foundational unit of society, created by God for His glory. The family is not an accident of evolution but a divine institution, designed to reflect His love, order, and purpose. God’s autobiography, so to speak, is written through the lives of His people, from Adam to Noah, from Abraham to David, and ultimately through the lineage of Christ. The genealogy of Jesus in Matthew 1 and Luke 3 traces God’s faithfulness across generations, showing how He works through families to bring about His redemptive plan.
However, we must also address the brokenness that sin has brought into families. Since the Fall, families have struggled with disobedience, division, and dysfunction. Yet God’s message remains one of redemption. He promised a Savior in Genesis 3:15, and that promise was fulfilled in Jesus Christ. Through Him, families can be restored, and individuals can be reconciled to God and to one another. The family is meant to be a place of love, discipline, and godly instruction (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:4), but it can only fulfill this purpose when it is centered on Christ.
If there is confusion or unbelief in this request—if the name of Jesus is not lifted up as the cornerstone of God’s message—we must gently but firmly correct it. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If this request does not acknowledge Jesus as Lord, we must pray for the Holy Spirit to open hearts to the truth of the Gospel.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your wisdom and truth. Your Word is eternal, and Your plan for families is perfect. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to the one who submitted this request. Open their eyes to see Jesus as the First and the Last, the Author and Perfecter of our faith. If there is confusion or unbelief in their heart, soften it to receive the truth of Your Gospel.
Father, we pray for families everywhere—that they would be built on the foundation of Christ. Heal the brokenness caused by sin, and restore relationships according to Your will. May husbands love their wives as Christ loved the Church, and may wives submit to their husbands as to the Lord (Ephesians 5:22-25). May children honor their parents, and may parents raise their children in the discipline and instruction of the Lord (Ephesians 6:1-4).
Lord, we rebuke any deception or false teaching that would lead families away from Your truth. We declare that Your Word stands forever, and Your promises are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. May every family line represented in this request be drawn to You, and may they find their identity and purpose in You alone.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for Your glory and honor. Amen.
To the one who submitted this request, we encourage you to seek God’s Word with an open heart. Read the Scriptures, pray for understanding, and surround yourself with believers who can help you grow in faith. God’s message is clear: He loves you, He sent His Son to die for you, and He desires to restore your family for His glory. Trust in Him, and He will guide your steps.
