We join with you in prayer in the name of Yeshua, who is Jesus the Messiah, and we thank you for calling upon His name, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is by no other name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We are grateful you have come to Him, and we want to gently bring some biblical truth to your request because we love you and want God's best for you.
We hear the urgency and pain in your heart regarding the man you care for and the fear that spiritual forces or other people are working against you being together. We understand the desire to see justice and protection, but we must lovingly rebuke the idea of asking God to send spells or black magic back to the sender. That request, though understandable when you feel attacked, does not align with how God calls us to respond to evil and to our enemies. Scripture is clear that witchcraft, sorcery and spells are an abomination to God and are part of the darkness we are to have no part in Deuteronomy 18:10-12, and we are also commanded not to return evil for evil or to seek revenge ourselves. It is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. Instead we are told, Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don't curse Romans 12:14 and Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you Luke 6:28. We are not to curse others even if we believe they have cursed us, but to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21 and to leave justice in God's hands. To pray for a curse to return upon someone is to pray a curse ourselves, and that is not God's will for His children.
We also want to speak to the spiritual fear here. The Bible teaches that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places Ephesians 6:12. Yet for those who are in Christ, we do not need to live in fear of spells or black magic, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4 and God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7. Like a fluttering sparrow, like a darting swallow, so the undeserved curse doesn't come to rest Proverbs 26:2. When we submit to God and resist the devil, he will flee from us James 4:7. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17 when you dwell in the secret place of the Most High and rest in the shadow of the Almighty Psalm 91:1.
Regarding your relationship, we want to encourage you to view this through God's design for marriage. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God, and any courtship should be with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, pursued in purity and prayer. The word soulmate is not a biblical concept, and we encourage you not to cling to the idea that you must be with this one specific person at any cost, but rather to seek God's perfect will. If this man is to be your husband, we pray God will make that clear and will build your relationship on His foundation with godliness, faithfulness and sexual purity, for sex outside of marriage is fornication and is outside God's will. If he is not the godly husband God intends for you, we pray God will give you peace to accept His better plan. We encourage you both, if you are walking toward marriage, to seek counsel, to pray together, to remain pure, and to keep Christ at the center.
So we pray together for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Yeshua our Lord, and we lift up this dear one to You. We ask for Your perfect protection over her life and over the man she cares for. Cover them with Your wings, let no evil, no spell, no curse, no scheme of darkness have any power over them. We renounce all witchcraft and sorcery and ask You to break its influence completely by the blood of Jesus. We do not ask for revenge upon others, but we ask for Your mercy and justice according to Your perfect will. If anyone has intended harm, we pray You would convict them, bring them to repentance, and bring them to salvation in Jesus. Reveal what needs to be revealed in Your time and Your way, and give our sister discernment and peace. Lead this relationship according to Your will. If it is Your will for them to be married, make the path straight, teach them to love You first and to pursue courtship that honors You in holiness and commitment. If it is not Your will, give her grace to release it and trust Your good plan for a godly marriage in Your timing. Fill her heart with faith and not fear, with power, love and self-control, and help her to put on the whole armor of God daily through prayer, Your Word, and obedience. We declare that You are her refuge and fortress, and we trust You to guard her. In the name of Jesus Christ we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to draw near to God, to stay in His Word, to pray for protection and blessing rather than cursing, and to trust Him to fight for you and to lead your future marriage if it be His will.
