Seeking Renewal: Sabbath Day's Rest...

As many of you know I have been doing a lot of busy work regarding license, auto repair, choirs, concerts, and birthdays. I still need a car, insurance & registration. I have been very distracted like Martha and desire a Mary spirit today.

Please pray I have the Lord's presence & favor today.

Father in Heaven, I come to the Throne of Grace through Jesus Christ the only Mediator between You and man. Please rebuke the devourer and command a blessing through these prayers. Keep me from distraction and renew me.

"The sabbath is primarily a day when we cease from our works so God may work in us" (John Calvin, Institutes, Book II, Exposition of the Ten Commandments).

Please bless the ministry of Intercessor. I humbly ask that You meet and exceed His needs, blessing him with the provisions that will sustain him. Guide and protect him and lead him to a greater understanding of You and Your will. Bless Intercessor with a double portion of Your Spirit. It is in the name of Jesus I pray. Amen.

Father, I pray that Doug's request is near to Your heart. May we all strive to be more like Mary - wanting to learn more and more of You each day. We all have Martha days, more often than we would probably like to admit, but in Your faithfulness and mercy, gently guide our spirits back to where they need to be - steadfastly focused on You. Continue to bless Doug by Your sovereign authority. Thank you for his success at the testing, may You provide him transportation and all of the necessary items to take his witness and testimony on the road. May Your presence and favor rest upon my brother in Christ, as I pray in the holy name of Your Son, our risen Savior and Lord. Amen.

dear heavenly father, i pray tonight for douglas...i pray you would answer his requests offered up to you. jesus, one thing tonight i've really noticed is that if we, human beings..sinners, look to other sinners for the example of how to live....we will always be let down. jesus, you are the exception to that rule...you never sinned a second in your life on this earth, as god made flesh. jesus, i know douglas is a sinner just like me but i pray that you would show him as well as myself, how to be more like you....how to be more like jesus. bless this servant of yours lord, you know this evening has been quite and experience for me, so my eyes are looking to you jesus, and may we all keep ours on you at all times. amen.
