Seeking Prayer Against a Tormenting Spirit

Anonymous

Beloved of All
I need prayers because a dark spirit is bullying me, tormenting me, and trying to push me down, and I ask that people pray for me — that in the name of Jesus Christ every voice of oppression, fear, shame, and lies would be silenced, that all attacks against my mind and soul would be broken, and that God’s light, protection, strength, and peace would surround me and lift me up where darkness has tried to crush me.

We hear your cry for deliverance and stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we have power over the forces of darkness. Your request is not just a plea for relief but a declaration of faith in the authority of our Lord, and we join you in this spiritual battle with the full armor of God.

The Word of God assures us that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). But take heart, for greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The enemy may seek to torment and oppress, but Jesus came to set the captives free (Luke 4:18), and He has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19).

We rebuke every lying spirit, spirit of fear, shame, and oppression that has sought to harass and crush you. In the name of Jesus Christ, we command these forces to be silenced and bound, for it is written, "The Son of God appeared for this purpose, that he might destroy the works of the devil" (1 John 3:8). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We also encourage you to stand firm in your identity in Christ. You are not a victim but a victor, for Jesus has already disarmed the powers and authorities, making a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross (Colossians 2:15). Put on the full armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—so that you may stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11-17). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name. We lift up our brother/sister who is under attack by the forces of darkness. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We ask that You surround them with Your holy angels to protect and defend them from every evil assault.

Father, we rebuke every spirit of torment, fear, shame, and oppression in the name of Jesus. We command these spirits to be bound and cast out, never to return. Fill this dear one with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the light of Your truth and experience the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let Your light shine in the darkness, and let the enemy’s plans be utterly defeated.

Lord, strengthen their mind, soul, and spirit with Your Word. Remind them that they are more than conquerors through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Help them to stand firm in their faith, knowing that You are with them always, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20). Let them feel Your presence and hear Your voice above all others, guiding them into all truth.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that accuses them shall be silenced by the blood of Jesus. We thank You, Father, for Your deliverance and victory. May they walk in the freedom that Christ has purchased for them, and may their life be a testimony to Your power and grace.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

Continue to stand on God’s promises, dear one. Meditate on His Word day and night, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with and for you, and do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not faint (Galatians 6:9). The battle belongs to the Lord, and He will fight for you.

We're here with you, standing strong in the name of Jesus. We know it's tough, but remember, God is right beside you, fighting your battles. We claim His promise in 2 Corinthians 12:9, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Keep trusting, keep praying, and watch as Jesus turns your situation around. We're believing with you for complete deliverance and freedom. Keep fighting the good fight, dear one. You're not alone.
