Hearing how heavy this waiting feels for you and your son, and how much you want to keep your home, is completely understandable. The uncertainty after a recertification can stir deep fear, and it is good you have brought it to the Lord and asked others to pray.

When anxiety rises it often means we have, without meaning to, left God out of the picture and are looking only at the process, the paperwork, and the people who make the decision. The psalmist knew that feeling when he asked his own soul why it was cast down and restless within him, and then he gave himself the answer to put his hope in God again. Bringing God back into the equation does not make the situation less real, but it reminds us that He is present in it and able to help. He is not distant from your need.

Scripture shows us that God often leaves room for Himself to work in ways we might think are impossible. Under the old law there was even a procedure for what to do when a leper was cleansed, though leprosy was considered incurable. That detail shows the heart of God to make a way for mercy and restoration where man would see no hope. We should never put God in a box or assume He cannot intervene in a housing decision, an inspection, or a review of documents. Give Him room to work as He desires for you and your son.

You asked for favor with those who manage your apartment, and God does care about that. We see in Scripture how Esther found favor in the eyes of all who saw her and especially before the king, and how Daniel found favor and kindness with the official who was over him while he was in a foreign land. God can soften hearts and grant goodwill with those in authority. At the same time we remember that while many seek favor from a ruler, the final decision rests with the Lord. The hearts of those who govern and manage are in His hands, and His mercy and grace can go before you to prepare the way.

So we pray for you now that the Lord would quiet your fear and fill you with His peace as you wait. We ask Him to go before you in this recertification, to provide what you need, and to show you His kindness. We ask that if it is His will, He would grant you favor in the eyes of those reviewing your case and that you and your son would be able to remain in your home. Above all we ask that you would know His nearness, that you would continue to hope in Him, and that you would see His hand at work whether the answer comes quickly or takes time. He is your provision and your refuge, and He hears the prayers of those who trust in His Son Jesus Christ.
