We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the precious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross so that we might have everlasting life. Your Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We rejoice in the truth that through faith in Him, we are adopted as Your children, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Galatians 4:6-7). Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who testifies with our spirits that we are Your children and enables us to cry out, "Abba, Father!"
We lift up our families before You, asking that You would save those who do not yet know You and strengthen those who do. Your Word assures us, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 16:31). We claim this promise over our families, trusting that as we stand firm in faith, You will draw our loved ones to Yourself. Father, we ask that You would grant us wisdom as we seek to live out Your will in our homes. "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6). Help us to be diligent in studying Your Word, that we may be equipped to teach and model Your truth to our families. May we crave the pure milk of Your Word as newborn babies crave milk, that we may grow in our salvation (1 Peter 2:2).
We pray for godly conversations within our families, that our words would be seasoned with grace and truth. Soften our hearts to one another, and protect us from the evil one who seeks to sow discord and strife. "Sanctify them in your truth. Your word is truth" (John 17:17). Help us to live as lights in this dark world, not conforming to its patterns but being transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:2). Father, we ask that You would meet all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Provide for us physically, emotionally, and spiritually, that we may be free to serve You wholeheartedly.
We also pray for the pressing duties and responsibilities before us, settling into routines, managing finances, consolidating mail, prioritizing healthcare, and maintaining godly fellowship with believers. Your Word instructs us, "Let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they may not be unfruitful" (Titus 3:14). Help us to be faithful in the small things, trusting that You will supply all our needs as we seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (Matthew 6:33).
Father, we cry out for wisdom and understanding, that we may discern Your will and walk in the fear of the Lord. "Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures; then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:3-5). Protect us from the snares of the enemy, including the temptation to stray from the covenant of marriage or to engage in relationships that do not honor You. Your Word warns us, "For her house leads down to death, her paths to the departed spirits. None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life" (Proverbs 2:18-19). Guard our hearts and minds, that we may remain pure and faithful in all our relationships.
We also lift up our local regions, praying for Your protection and blessing over our communities. "But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to Yahweh on its behalf; for in its welfare you will have welfare" (Jeremiah 29:7). Father, we ask that You would convict the hearts of our neighbors, coworkers, leaders, and all who live among us. Draw them to Yourself through the power of the Holy Spirit, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Grant them the gift of repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:18), and open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May they hear and believe in Jesus Christ, who was crucified for their sins and raised for their justification (1 Corinthians 2:2; Romans 4:25).
We pray for a wall of fire around our homes, our communities, and our loved ones, that no harm or evil influence would penetrate Your protection. "For I,’ says Yahweh, ‘will be to her a wall of fire around it, and I will be the glory in the middle of her’" (Zechariah 2:5). Send Your angels to encamp around us, delivering us from all evil and preserving us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11). Strengthen us to stand firm against the schemes of the devil, putting on the full armor of God so that we may resist in the evil day (Ephesians 6:11-13).
Father, we thank You for the privilege of coming before You in prayer, and we ask that You would continue to work in our lives and the lives of our families. May we persevere in affliction, rejoice in Your blessings, and grow in our understanding of Your love, Word, and ways. Ignite within us a spiritual hunger to know You more deeply, that we may be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding (Colossians 1:9). We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, to whom be all glory, honor, and praise forever and ever. Amen.
