We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the precious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross so that all who believe in Him might have everlasting life. Your Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We rejoice in the truth that through His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension, we have been adopted as Your children, heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). Thank You for the Holy Spirit, who testifies with our spirit that we are Your children, enabling us to cry out, "Abba, Father!" (Galatians 4:6).
We lift up our families before You, Lord, asking that You save those who do not yet know You and strengthen those who do. Your Word assures us, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 16:31). We claim this promise over our families, trusting that as we stand firm in faith, You will draw them to Yourself. Father, we ask for wisdom, "For the Lord gives wisdom. Out of his mouth comes knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6). Grant us discernment to walk in Your ways, to recognize and resist the snares of the enemy, and to flee from temptation, especially the lure of ungodly relationships that lead away from Your covenant. The adulteress may forsake the companion of her youth and forget Your covenant (Proverbs 2:17), but we choose to honor You with our bodies and our commitments, remembering that marriage is a sacred union between one man and one woman, established by You for life (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6).
We cry out for spiritual hunger in our families, that we may crave the pure milk of Your Word like newborn babies (1 Peter 2:2). Open our eyes to understand Your truth, that we may teach and model it to one another. Your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105), and we ask that You sanctify us by its truth (John 17:17). Protect us from the evil one, for we know that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). Clothe us in the full armor of God, that we may stand firm in the day of trouble (Ephesians 6:13).
Father, we also intercede for our local communities, praying for the welfare of the cities and towns where You have placed us. As Your Word instructs, "Seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to Yahweh for it; for in its peace, you will have peace" (Jeremiah 29:7). We ask that You convict hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing all people to Yourself. Grant repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:18) and godly sorrow that produces salvation (2 Corinthians 7:10). Let the message of Christ crucified (1 Corinthians 2:2) be proclaimed boldly, that faith may come by hearing Your Word (Romans 10:17). We pray for a wall of fire around our regions, shielding us from harm and evil influences (Zechariah 2:5), and that Your angels would encamp around us, delivering us from all evil (Psalm 91:11).
Lord, we thank You for the promise that You will supply all our needs according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Help us to be diligent in our duties, whether in fellowship with believers, managing our households, caring for our health, or stewarding our finances. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12). May we be doers of Your Word and not hearers only (James 1:22), bearing fruit in every good work as we abide in Christ (John 15:4-5).
We rejoice in Your faithfulness, knowing that You who began a good work in us will complete it until the day of Christ Jesus (Philippians 1:6). Strengthen us to persevere in affliction, to rejoice in Your blessings, and to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which we have been called (Ephesians 4:1). May our lives reflect Your love, Your truth, and Your grace, that others may see our good works and glorify our Father in heaven (Matthew 5:16).
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
