We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of gratitude for the precious gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, who shed His blood on the cross for our sins. Your Word declares, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). We rejoice in the truth that those who receive Him and believe in His name are called children of God (John 1:12-13), heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).
Father, we lift up our families before You, asking that You would save those who do not yet know You and strengthen those who do. Your Word assures us, "Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household" (Acts 16:31). We claim this promise over our loved ones, trusting that You are drawing them to Yourself. Grant them repentance that leads to life (Acts 11:18) and the gift of faith to believe in Jesus as their Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9). Soften their hearts to receive the gospel, for "faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God" (Romans 10:17).
Lord, we cry out for wisdom and understanding, as Your Word instructs: "Yes, if you call out for discernment, and lift up your voice for understanding; if you seek her as silver, and search for her as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of Yahweh, and find the knowledge of God" (Proverbs 2:3-5). Guard our families from the snares of the enemy, including the temptation of adultery or forsaking the covenant of marriage. Your Word warns, "For her house leads down to death, her paths to the departed spirits. None who go to her return again, neither do they attain to the paths of life" (Proverbs 2:18-19). Strengthen marriages to reflect Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and let no ungodly relationships take root in our families.
We also pray for our local communities, asking that You would bring revival and conviction of sin. Your Word commands us to "seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare" (Jeremiah 29:7). Father, send Your Holy Spirit to convict hearts of sin, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8), drawing all people to Jesus. Raise up godly leaders, pastors, and believers who will proclaim the gospel boldly. Surround our regions with a wall of fire, as You promised in Zechariah 2:5, protecting us from evil and harm.
Lord, we ask that You meet every pressing need in our families, financial, physical, emotional, and spiritual. Your Word declares, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). Help us to be diligent in our duties, to manage our resources wisely, and to trust in Your provision. Let us not grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up (Galatians 6:9).
Father, we hunger for more of You. Open our eyes to understand Your Word, that we may teach it to others and live it out daily. As Your Word says, "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness" (2 Timothy 3:16). Sanctify us by Your truth, for Your Word is truth (John 17:17). Let us crave the pure milk of Your Word like newborn babies (1 Peter 2:2), growing in spiritual maturity and discernment.
We rejoice in Your promise of angelic protection: "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:11-12). Thank You for dispatching Your angels to watch over us and our families. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You are our refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2).
Finally, Lord, we pray that You would fill us with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that we may walk worthy of You, fully pleasing You, bearing fruit in every good work (Colossians 1:9-10). May our families be lights in this dark world, shining the love and truth of Christ to all we encounter.
In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
