SANCTITY OF LIFE SUNDAY
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalm 139:13-16
Do you know that today is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday? May you and I pray for all women who have been pregnant and did not know what to do and thought abortion was the only answer.
“Lord, I pray that you will send someone who has hope for any teenager or young woman or a wife who finds themselves pregnant unexpectedly. Do not let the enemy, Satan, speak death to the baby in her womb as the enemy wants to steal, kill and destroy, but Jesus came that they may have life. Lord, remove the mountain of abortion in our Nation. In Jesus Name we pray. Amen.â€
The Lord Jesus Christ can handle any crisis, including any unwanted or unexpected pregnancy. I thank the Lord that we now have pregnancy centers and full-service maternity homes for pregnant girls, teenagers or women. In almost every area there are alternatives for helping teenagers or women who are pregnant, other than abortion. Young women can go to these special facilities at no cost to help them through their crisis, as well as leading them to the Lord Jesus Christ.
Can you imagine our churches or counselors recommending alternatives to abortions? Can you imagine churches or counselors recommending marriage reconciliation to couples who have marriages that are hanging by a thread? Divorces can be stopped by one spouse (or loved ones) who would pray for marriage restoration, fighting for their husband’s or wife’s heart to be changed forever!
Do you know of someone who has had an abortion? Have you had an abortion or have you possibly paid for an abortion for someone that you know? Do not let the enemy torment you anymore for your past mistakes! You having an abortion may be affecting your entire life and marriage. I wonder how many marriages have been destroyed because you still blame yourself for making wrong choices at a very bad time in your life.
If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as Lord of your life yet, because you feel unworthy, I have great news for you. Jesus Christ came to earth to save all sinners which includes you! Cry out to God, just talk to Him, tell Him how you are feeling, confess your sins and failures, and then ask the Lord to forgive you. Tell the Lord that you have made a mess of your life, but you want Jesus to become Savior and Lord of your life. You will never be the same. The Lord will remove all your sins including your guilt and shame. Then forgive anyone else who forced you to have an abortion or paid for you to have an abortion. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9
What would you do if someone told you that they are going to have an abortion? Would you give them an alternative? Would you go and get information from a pregnancy center to give them hope in the choices they must make for this crisis in their life? You can make a difference in stopping abortions, one at a time. Do you know how many abortions have occurred in the United States? The answer: over 50 million babies! God forgive us and have mercy on us. Lord, go touch and heal all Your hurting women and men who have had or participated in helping someone have an abortion and they still feel that they have done something that is unforgivable. God loves you, cry out to Him today! God will change you forever!
Let me share some examples on how abortions can happen:
Would you consider abortion in any of the following four situations?
1. There's a preacher and his wife who are very, very, poor. They already have 14 children. Now she learns that she's pregnant with the 15th. They are living in poverty. Due to their poverty, would you recommend she get an abortion?
2. The father is sick with syphilis, the mother has TB. They have four children. The first is blind, the second is deaf, the third is deaf and the fourth has TB. She finds she's pregnant again. Would you recommend an abortion?
3. A white man raped a 13-year-old black girl and she got pregnant. If you were her parents, would you consider abortion?
4. A teenage girl is pregnant. She is not married. Her fiancé is not the father of the baby, and he is very upset. Would you consider abortion?
If you had recommended abortion, what would have been the results?
1. In the first case, you would have killed John Wesley, one of the great evangelists of the nineteenth century.
2. In the second case, you'd have killed Beethoven.
3. In the third case, you would have killed Ethel Waters, the great black gospel singer who sang with the Billy Graham crusades.
4. If you said yes to the fourth case, you would have sanctioned the murder of Jesus Christ!

Do you know how many Americans say they favor "restoring legal protection for unborn children?†Please pray that God will stop the killing of innocent babies every day, every hour and every minute. There are so many great stories of men and women who have been spared abortions and the child has been used mightily by our Lord God. There are so many couples who would adopt a baby.
We can make a difference by knowing God's Word, proclaiming the righteousness of God, and His love for all the women and men who were involved in an abortion. Pray that everyone will turn their heart to the Lord and receive His love, His grace, His mercy and His forgiveness today.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Will you start praying for all the women every day who have to make the decision whether to have an abortion or not? Let us start making a difference for the “sanctity of life.†Pray for teenage girls, young women, and wives around the world who do not know the truth and the choices that they must make, most in secret and alone.
Let us remember to pray and become a voice for the voiceless. Pray that the Holy Spirit will show women and men there is an alternative other than abortion. Let us continue to pray for God to do the impossible of reversing Roe vs. Wade which continues to allow abortions to be legal in the United States. God, forgive our Nation of our sins. May the church cry out for the abortions being done everyday. Lord, help us to start praying daily for You to move the mountain of circumstances that cause abortions. Lord, teach our teenagers and young women abstinence and not to give up their purity. Nothing is too hard for You to accomplish!
"If my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14
