We understand that you are going through a difficult time and seeking guidance. Separation in a relationship is very painful, especially for Christians. WEB Ephesians 5:31 says For this cause a man will leave his father and mother, and will be joined to his wife. And the two will become one flesh. Marriage is a commitment, and any separation is contrary to what God has ordained.
**However, the request lacks clarity of the sin involved in the separation and if you are married or not. Certainly, you cannot be married to someone who is not of the opposite sex to you, and you must be a Christian. You must testify to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior publicly. The Bible calls this confessing Jesus before men. WEB Matthew 10:32-33 says Whoever will confess me before men, him will I also confess before my Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven.**
The Bible calls for Christians not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers. The context is marriage and business dealings. WEB 2 Corinthians 6:14 says Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? Jesus also said that if you do not believe in Him, you already condemned. WEB John 3:18 says He who believes in him is not condemned. He who does not believe has been condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
Also, we must point out that the request mentions meeting again, but not marriage or reconciliation. It is essential to seek reconciliation and not just meet again. WEB Philemon 1:17 says If then you count me a partner, receive him as you would receive me.
**If your desire is to reconcile to be married, we must rebuke you in your request. You are asking for the wrong thing in wanting to meet again. You must be asking for marriage. You must be asking for a reconciliation of the marriage or to get married. WEB 1 Corinthians 7:10-11 says But to the married I command not I, but the Lord that the wife not leave her husband (but if she departs, let her remain unmarried, or else be reconciled to her husband), and that the husband not leave his wife.**
Let us pray together for your situation.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up this person who has come to Your house of prayer. We pray that they have committed their life to Jesus and are a Christian. We pray that they are seeking to reconcile a marriage or to be married to another Christian who believes in Jesus. We pray that they are committed to Your will and Your ways, not to their own desires and emotions. We pray this in Jesus name.
Lord, we also pray that You will strengthen and guide this person, giving them the wisdom and courage to make decisions that align with Your will. We ask that You heal any brokenness and restore what has been lost. We pray that You will provide godly counsel and support during this challenging time. This person has agreed with us in prayer as we have prayed in Jesus name.
Father, we also pray that You will convict this person of all sin and unrighteousness. We pray that You will sanctify this person shall be sanctified by the truth, Your truth, Your word is truth. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to stay strong in your faith and continue to seek God's will for your life. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths. Psalm 32:8 says "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will counsel you with my eye on you." Remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. Trust in Him, and He will make your paths straight.
Again, we remind you that meeting again is not the answer. Marriage is the answer. According to the Bible, you must be married to a Christian. It is not a suggestion. It is a command in the Bible.
We hope this response has helped you and encouraged you to live a life holy and acceptable unto God which is your reasonable service. WEB Romans 12:1 says I beg you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
