We notice in your prayer that you are seeking protection and guidance, which is a good and natural desire for every believer. However, we must gently but firmly correct a few things that do not align with Scripture. First, while angels are indeed ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation (Hebrews 1:14), we are never instructed to pray to them or call upon them directly. Our prayers are to be directed to God alone, through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). You referenced Psalm 91:11-12, which speaks of God commanding His angels to guard us, but it is God Himself who is our refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2), not the angels. We do not pray to angels; we pray to the Father in Jesus’ name.
Second, the desire for vengeance is something we must surrender to the Lord. Scripture tells us, "Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, 'Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord'" (Romans 12:19 WEB). Instead of asking for the scattering of foes, we should pray for their repentance and transformation, as Jesus taught us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). God is just, and He will deal with those who oppose His children, but our role is to trust in His timing and His ways.
We also want to take this moment to share the fullness of the gospel with you, for salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ. The Bible tells us that "all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23 WEB), and the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23). But God, in His great love, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for our sins so that we might be reconciled to Him. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16 WEB). If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9). This is the foundation of our faith, and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father.
Let us pray together now, aligning our hearts with God’s will and seeking His protection, guidance, and peace in the name of Jesus Christ:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for Your love, Your mercy, and Your faithfulness. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking that You would draw them close to Your heart. Forgive them for any ways they have sought protection or guidance outside of You, and help them to understand that You alone are their refuge and strength (Psalm 46:1). Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels as You have promised, but more than that, we ask that You would be their shield and their defender.
Father, we surrender any desire for vengeance into Your hands. Help them to trust in Your justice and to pray for those who may have wronged them, that they too might come to know You. Fill their heart with Your peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and guide their steps according to Your will. Lord, we ask that You would illuminate their path and scatter any darkness that seeks to harm them. Protect their belongings, their activities, and their loved ones, and let Your will be done in every area of their life.
We also pray for their salvation, Lord. If they have not yet fully surrendered their life to Jesus Christ, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them in a powerful way. Open their eyes to see their need for a Savior, and soften their heart to receive Your gift of eternal life. May they confess Jesus as Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, so that they may be saved (Romans 10:9). Fill them with the Holy Spirit, and lead them into all truth.
Lord, we trust in You alone. You are our fortress, our deliverer, and our strong tower (Psalm 18:2). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will work all things together for their good (Romans 8:28). Strengthen their faith, and help them to walk in obedience to Your Word. May they find their hope and their joy in You, and may they live each day for Your glory.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, for it is a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can encourage you and hold you accountable in your walk with Christ. If you have not yet made a personal commitment to follow Jesus, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, turn away from them, and invite Jesus to be the Lord of your life. If you have already done this, we rejoice with you and encourage you to continue growing in your relationship with Him.
Remember, God is your protector, your provider, and your peace. You do not need to call upon angels or any other being, He alone is sufficient. Trust in Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
