We come before the Lord with hearts full of hope and urgency, lifting up this precious soul who is in need of salvation. The Word of God reminds us that salvation is found in no one else but Jesus Christ, for "there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12, WEB). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that anyone can be reconciled to God, for "if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9, WEB). This is not a matter of mere religious tradition or good works, but a transformation of the heart by the power of the Holy Spirit.
We earnestly pray that the Lord would open this person’s eyes to the truth of the Gospel. May the Holy Spirit convict them of their sin and their need for a Savior, drawing them into a saving relationship with Jesus Christ. We ask that God would remove any spiritual blindness, as it is written, "the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that the light of the Good News of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not dawn on them" (2 Corinthians 4:4, WEB). Lord, let Your light shine into their heart and reveal the beauty of Your grace and the urgency of repentance.
Father, we also pray that You would place godly influences in their life—believers who will boldly and lovingly share the truth of Your Word with them. May they hear the Gospel clearly and respond with a repentant heart. We ask that You would break any chains of sin, deception, or hardness of heart that may be keeping them from surrendering to You. Your Word declares, "Today, if you will hear his voice, don’t harden your hearts" (Hebrews 3:15, WEB). Softening their heart, Lord, and lead them to the foot of the cross where they can find forgiveness, redemption, and eternal life.
We stand in the gap for this soul, trusting in Your promise that "The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but he is patient with us, not wishing that anyone should perish, but that all should come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9, WEB). May this person turn from their sins and place their faith in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. We pray that they would experience the new birth, being born again of the Spirit, as Jesus said, "Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born anew, he can’t see God’s Kingdom" (John 3:3, WEB).
In Jesus’ mighty name, we bind any spiritual forces of darkness that may be hindering this person from receiving the truth. We declare that no weapon formed against the plan of God for their life shall prosper. We loose the power of the Holy Spirit to move mightily in their heart and circumstances, bringing them to a place of surrender and faith in Christ.
Lord, we thank You in advance for the work You are going to do in this life. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your love, knowing that You desire all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4, WEB). We commit this person into Your hands, asking that You would save them, transform them, and use them for Your glory. May they one day stand before You, redeemed and clothed in the righteousness of Christ, hearing the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
