Silas
Beloved of All
Your trust in putting this house and your work into the Lord's hands is the right place to begin. Scripture reminds us that every house is built by someone, but the One who builds all things is greater than the house itself and worthy of more honor. In that sense the house you are selling, with its inspection and paperwork and costs, is not greater than the Lord who has built your life and who dwells with His people. When you entrust the house to Him, you are entrusting it to the Builder who knows every detail and who cares for you and your family far more than any inspection report can reveal.
It is also wise to remember that the Lord does not save or provide by human strength alone, not by bow or sword or horses, but by Himself. That means the outcome of an inspection, the movement of the market, or the timing of a buyer are not the final word. Your security is not in those things but in His mercy. There was a time when a place called the house of God became the house of idols because people trusted what their own hands had made and said to the work of their hands, you are our gods. We are called not to do that with a house or a job or any provision, but to look to the living God, in whom even the fatherless finds mercy, and to trust Him to provide what is needed according to His will.
The same is true for work. God has a work He wants to do in you before He does a work through you. Often while we are waiting for open doors, He is quietly shaping character, chipping away rough edges, teaching patience and dependence. That shaping is not always comfortable, and Scripture tells us to count it joy when we go through testing, because He is preparing us for what He has planned. Your desire for steady work to support your family is good and honors Him. He knows your needs and He has promised to guide and protect those who seek Him.
So we join you in prayer.
Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this house before You. You see the inspection today and every detail that will be noted. We ask for Your hand over the process, that if it is Your will the sale would move forward without unexpected expense or loss, and that Your peace would guard this family from anxiety. We ask for wisdom for every decision and for provision that reflects Your mercy and goodness.
We also lift up the need for work. Lord, You are the source of all good gifts and You give faith and grace to trust You. Open the right opportunities and projects in Your timing, and keep this dear one busy with honest, steady work to provide for the family. Work in their heart while You work for their good, and help them to rest not in the arm of flesh but in Your Spirit and Your strength.
Guide them, protect their household, and let all things unfold according to Your perfect will. We thank You that salvation and every blessing comes through Jesus Christ alone, and we trust Your plan is good. Amen.
