We join together in lifting up all those affected by the heavy rains and flooding, crying out to our Heavenly Father for His mercy and protection. The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble—therefore we will not fear, even when the earth gives way and the mountains are thrown into the heart of the seas (Psalm 46:1-2, WEB). He is the One who calms the storms and commands the winds and the waves, and we trust in His sovereign care over every life in harm’s way.
For those traveling through these dangerous conditions, we pray for divine guidance and safety. May the Lord go before them as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, guarding their steps and preserving them from all harm (Exodus 13:21). We ask that He would give wisdom to drivers, first responders, and all who are navigating flooded roads, that they would exercise caution and discernment. Let the angels of the Lord encamp around them, delivering them from every snare and danger (Psalm 91:11).
For those whose homes and livelihoods are threatened by rising waters, we pray for provision and comfort. May the Lord be their strong tower, a shelter in the storm (Proverbs 18:10). We ask that He would move the hearts of neighbors, churches, and communities to come alongside those in need, offering practical help and the hope of the Gospel. Let this trial be a testimony of God’s faithfulness, as He supplies all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19).
We also pray for the salvation of those who do not yet know Christ in these affected areas. In the midst of this chaos, may hearts be turned toward Him, the only One who can save both body and soul. Let them call upon the name of the Lord and be saved (Romans 10:13), for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May this season of difficulty become a season of harvest, where many come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
Father, we ask for Your hand of protection over the vulnerable—the elderly, the children, the sick, and the poor. Provide for their every need and let them feel Your presence in a tangible way. We rebuke the destructive power of the floodwaters in the name of Jesus, commanding them to recede and spare lives and property. You alone are the God who parts the seas and makes a way where there seems to be no way (Isaiah 43:16).
We thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your promise that when we call upon You in truth, You will answer us and show us great and mighty things (Jeremiah 33:3). May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of those affected by this disaster (Philippians 4:7). We commit this situation into Your hands, trusting that You will work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, we pray. Amen.
