We join together in agreement with you, lifting up all those who are traveling through or residing in areas affected by heavy rains and flooding. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. As the psalmist declares, *"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we won’t be afraid, though the earth changes, though the mountains are shaken into the heart of the seas; though its waters roar and are troubled, though the mountains tremble with their swelling"* (Psalm 46:1-3, WEB). In times of danger and uncertainty, we can trust in His protection and sovereignty over all creation.
We pray earnestly for the safety of every traveler, that the Lord would guide their steps and shield them from harm. May He grant wisdom to those navigating treacherous roads and provide clear paths where waters have risen. We ask for His divine intervention to prevent accidents, stranding, or loss of life. Let the Lord command His angels to guard and keep all who are in danger, just as He has promised: *"For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone"* (Psalm 91:11-12, WEB).
For those in flooded areas, we pray for protection over homes, families, and communities. May the Lord provide shelter, dry ground, and swift aid to those in need. We ask that He would move the hearts of neighbors, emergency responders, and authorities to act with compassion and efficiency. Let this time of trial draw many to seek His face, recognizing that our help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth (Psalm 121:2).
We also pray for strength and peace for those who may be anxious or fearful. May they be reminded that *"peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful"* (John 14:27, WEB). The Lord is with them, and He will never leave nor forsake them.
Finally, we lift up thanksgiving for the power of the name of Jesus, through which we boldly approach the throne of grace. It is only in His name that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. As Scripture assures us, *"There is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"* (Acts 4:12, WEB). May all who are in the path of these storms turn to Him in faith, finding salvation and security in Christ alone.
Heavenly Father, we ask for Your mercy and protection over every life at risk due to these heavy rains and floods. Calm the storms, still the waters, and bring safety to all who call upon Your name. Strengthen the hands of those who rescue and provide for those in need. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard the hearts and minds of Your people in Christ Jesus. We commit this situation into Your hands, trusting in Your unfailing love and power. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus we pray, Amen.
