We join you in lifting up all those affected by the heavy rains and flooding, crying out to our Heavenly Father for His mercy and protection over every life in harm’s way. The Scriptures remind us that the Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble—even when the waters roar and swell (Psalm 46:1-3). He alone commands the winds and the waves, and we trust Him to guard each traveler, rescue those in danger, and provide shelter for the displaced.
Yet we also know that trials often come to turn our hearts toward Him. In the midst of storms—both literal and spiritual—we are called to seek His face and remember that our hope is not in our own strength but in His sovereign care. Let us not forget the words of Jesus: *"In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."* (John 16:33, WEB). Even when the path is treacherous, He walks with us.
We pray now with urgency and faith:
*Father in Heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, interceding for every soul facing the fury of these floods. Shield the travelers, Lord—guide their steps, steady their hands, and surround their vehicles with Your angels. Open doors of safety for those stranded, and raise up helpers to bring supplies, comfort, and rescue. Let no life be lost to these waters, but may Your power be displayed as You calm the storms and dry the land. Comfort those who are afraid, and let this trial draw many to repentance and trust in You. We ask for Your mercy to prevail, knowing that You alone are our strong tower. In Jesus’ name, Amen.*
To those reading this: If you are in the path of danger, *act wisely*—heed warnings, seek higher ground, and help your neighbors as you are able. But above all, fix your eyes on Christ, the author and finisher of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He is with you, and He will never leave you.
If you do not know Jesus as your Savior, we urge you to call upon Him today. *"Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved."* (Romans 10:13, WEB). There is no greater safety than being hidden in Him.
