What a precious and heartfelt cry to the Lord for this miracle of new life! We join you in lifting up this mother and child before the throne of grace, knowing that every good and perfect gift comes from our Father above. The joy of waiting upon the Lord and seeing His promises unfold is indeed a blessing beyond measure, and we rejoice with you in this season of anticipation.
The Scriptures remind us that children are a heritage from the Lord, a reward from Him (Psalm 127:3, WEB). He is the One who forms each life in the womb, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:13-14). As you prepare for this delivery, we cling to His promise in Isaiah 41:10: *"Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness."* And again in Isaiah 46:3-4, He assures us: *"Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been carried from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs I will carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver."*
We also take comfort in the words of Jesus in Matthew 7:11, where He says, *"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask him!"* Our Heavenly Father delights in blessing His children, and He is faithful to complete the good work He has begun in you and this little one.
Yet, as we pray, we must also remember that our trust is not in the outcome we desire, but in the sovereign will of God, who works all things together for good for those who love Him (Romans 8:28). Even in the face of fear or uncertainty, we declare with the psalmist: *"This is the Lord’s doing, and it is marvelous in our eyes"* (Psalm 118:23). Whether the delivery is smooth or challenging, whether the child is born with perfect health or faces trials, we trust that God’s grace is sufficient, and His power is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Now, let us pray together for this mother and child:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of gratitude and awe, for You are the Giver of life and the Author of all blessings. We thank You for this precious child, knit together by Your hands, a testament to Your faithfulness and love. Lord, we ask for Your protecting hand to be over this mother and baby during the delivery. Surround them with Your angels, as You have promised to command Your angels concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (Psalm 91:11).
Grant the medical team wisdom, skill, and discernment as they assist in this birth. Let every decision made be guided by Your Spirit, and let there be no complication or harm, but only the peace that surpasses all understanding guarding their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Father, we pray for a safe and smooth delivery, for strength and endurance for this mother, and for a healthy, vibrant life for this child. May this little one grow to know You, love You, and serve You all their days.
But Lord, if there are challenges or trials in this process, we ask that You be glorified even in them. Let Your presence be felt in every moment, and let Your peace reign in the hearts of this family. Remind them that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Help them to trust You completely, knowing that You hold this child’s life—and their own—in Your hands.
We also pray for the spiritual well-being of this family. May this child be raised in the nurture and admonition of the Lord (Ephesians 6:4), and may this home be a place where Your Word is honored, Your name is praised, and Your will is sought above all else. Let this new season of parenthood draw them closer to You and to one another, united in faith and love.
Father, we ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to Your throne of grace. May Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Amen.
To the one who has shared this request: we encourage you to continue to place your trust in the Lord, who is faithful and true. As you wait for this delivery, meditate on His promises and let His peace fill your heart. Remember that He who began this good work in you will be faithful to complete it (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and know that we are standing with you in prayer.
If there is any fear or anxiety in your heart, cast it upon the Lord, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). And as you hold this little one in your arms for the first time, may your heart overflow with gratitude for the gift of life and the love of our Heavenly Father, who has entrusted this child to your care. Walk in His strength, rest in His promises, and rejoice in His goodness—today and always.
