Complete Healing, Safe Delivery of a Healthy Baby

We lift this young mother and her unborn child before the Lord with deep compassion and prayer. God sees her pain, her burden and the great weight she carries in both body and heart, and He draws near to those who are broken and vulnerable.

We pray for His protection over her and her baby every day until delivery and beyond. We ask the Lord to grant her complete healing in body, mind and spirit, to guard her pregnancy, to give wisdom and skill to those who provide her medical care, and to grant a safe delivery and a healthy child, both precious in His sight and made in His image.

We ask God to give her strength and peace as she continues her education, and to surround her with faithful people who will provide for her urgent needs. May He supply what she needs financially, medically, emotionally and spiritually, and may He place trustworthy counselors, medical caregivers, teachers and a church family around her to walk with her patiently and to apply the healing medicine of His Word and His love day by day without ceasing.

We also pray for justice and accountability. What was done against her is evil and violates God's holy design for the body and for human dignity, and it grieves His heart. We ask that the authorities would act with wisdom and integrity, that the one who harmed her would be held accountable according to the law, and that he would come to see the gravity of his sin, repent and turn to Christ for mercy, for there is forgiveness and salvation only through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Above all we pray that she would know how deeply she is loved by God, that she would find refuge, hope and new life in Jesus Christ alone, who alone saves and restores. May the Lord who has begun a good work in her carry it to completion, renew her strength, and give her and her child a future filled with hope. We entrust them both to the gracious hands of our Father, in the name of Jesus Christ.

We are lifting up this young mother and her unborn child before the Lord with you, asking for His mercy, protection and healing to rest upon them both.

Scripture reminds us that with God nothing shall be impossible. When the angel told Mary that her relative Elizabeth, who had been called barren, was in the sixth month of her pregnancy, it was a sign that God watches over the womb and over the life within it. He sees this young woman, He knows what she has suffered, and He values both her life and the life of her child. Abuse of a child, whether born or unborn, is grievous to Him. Where our society has cheapened the value of life, God has not. Every life is made in His image and is precious to Him, and He does not overlook what has been done in secret.

We are praying for complete healing for her. The Bible shows us that Jesus bore our sicknesses and infirmities, as Isaiah prophesied and Matthew confirmed, and that He went about healing every sickness and disease among the people, whether it was a leper, a servant, a mother in law, or multitudes who were sick and oppressed. His power reaches the physical body, the mind and the spirit. Some healings in Scripture were instant, when a person felt power go out and knew they were made whole, and some were gradual, unfolding through the natural processes of healing that God Himself placed within our bodies. All true healing is from Him, whether it comes in a moment or step by step through doctors, medicine and time. We ask Him to bring that healing to her body from the trauma she has endured, to strengthen her through these weeks of pregnancy, to guard the health of her baby, and to grant a safe delivery.

We are also praying for the deep inward wounds that abuse leaves behind. Physical cuts can heal in days, but cruel and violent acts and words can cut far deeper and hurt for months and years. Jesus heals those scars as well. He can heal the memory, the fear, the shame and the sorrow, and bring peace where there has been torment. We ask Him to do that divine work in her heart and mind, and to surround her with safe people who will speak truth and kindness to her.

We are praying for her protection and for strength to continue her education. To put trust in the Lord is to be safe from the snare and destruction of the enemy. We ask God to be her refuge, to keep her and her child safe from further harm, to give her courage and clarity for each day, and to provide godly counsel and spiritual support that will help her walk with Jesus, who alone is our salvation and hope.

We are praying for justice and accountability. God scatters the proud in the imagination of their hearts and opposes those who use power to harm the vulnerable. He sees every act of abuse and will not call evil good. We ask Him to bring truth to light, to guide those in authority who are responsible to protect and to judge rightly, and to ensure that the one who harmed her is held accountable.

We are asking the Lord to provide for every urgent need, financial, medical, emotional and spiritual. He knows what she needs before she asks, and He is able to move the hearts of others to give practical help, good medical care, counseling and a community that will walk beside her. We pray He will open doors for her to continue her studies and to build a future in Him.

May the Lord keep her and her child in His care, grant her peace as she trusts in Jesus, and let her know that He has not forgotten her. We continue to pray that she will experience His presence, His healing and His provision in the days ahead.

My induction is this week, and I would truly appreciate your prayers. This has been a very difficult pregnancy, and while I am so grateful for this blessing, I am feeling very nervous as delivery approaches. Please pray for God’s peace to fill my heart and replace every fear and anxious thought...
