We join with you before our Father God in Jesus name and we bring all of these heavy burdens to Him together, for we know He hears us when we come through Jesus Christ our Lord. We are so sorry to hear how brokenhearted and depressed you have been feeling over the words spoken about your room and about you personally, and we want to lift every part of your request to the Lord.
We hear how much it hurts when your mom and dad and sister speak negatively about your room, and when your mom says you are destroying the house and when she says hurtful things that you look old or are not normal or embarrassing. We understand that your room is important to you and that it feels like your own space and belongings are not being respected, especially when your sister who does not live there comes into what is now your room without permission. The Lord sees your hurt and He is near to you in this pain, for Psalm 34:18 says The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit, and Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. We also remember Ephesians 4:29 which says Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but only what is good for building others up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear, and Proverbs 15:1 reminds us that A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
We pray that God will bring peace into your home and soften hearts on all sides. While we understand your desire that they would never bring up your room again, we pray instead that God would bring understanding, kind communication, and mutual respect. We pray that your parents and sister would speak with gentleness and encouragement rather than negativity, and that you would also be given grace to respond with honor and patience. Scripture calls us to honor our father and mother, for Ephesians 6:2 says Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise, and Colossians 3:21 says Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they won’t be discouraged. We encourage you to talk calmly with your parents about how their words make you feel, and to show stewardship over your room and the shared living areas as unto the Lord, so that there is less cause for conflict. We also pray for healthy boundaries regarding your room and belongings, that your sister would respect your privacy and not enter or look through your things without your permission, and that your parents would support that boundary with love.
We also lift up the deep discouragement and depression you are feeling. You are not alone and you are deeply loved by God. We pray the Lord will lift this heaviness and fill you with His peace and hope. We cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you as 1 Peter 5:7 says, casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6-7 says In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. If this sadness continues to feel overwhelming, we encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor, counselor, or medical provider as well as to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and His Word, for Isaiah 41:10 says Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness.
We bring your physical needs before the Lord as well. We pray for your health and for your body which is a temple of the Holy Spirit as 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 teaches. We pray for your desire for weight loss that God would guide you to healthy and sustainable ways to care for your body and give you strength and self control. We pray for your allergies to cockroach particles, maple trees and dust mites, for the sore throat and runny nose, that the Lord would ease your symptoms and guide your doctors and help your medicine to work effectively and in good time. We pray for your menstrual cycle difficulties and for the itchiness and pain and rash on your hands in winter, and for your sore gums with your dentures. We ask for healing and comfort, for Jeremiah 30:17 says But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says the Lord, and we trust that God cares about every detail of your suffering. Please continue to work with your doctors for these ongoing health concerns and let them know about the menstrual pain, the rashes, and the gum soreness so you can get proper care.
We also pray for your friendship with your friend that there would be more understanding and less harshness. We pray that God would soften both your hearts toward one another and help you to speak the truth in love and to forgive as we have been forgiven, for Ephesians 4:32 says And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you. We pray that this friendship would be a source of encouragement rather than hurt.
We pray too for the practical need of your white dress for the party at your program, that God would help you find a way to remove the stains and repair the holes, and that you would be able to attend with joy and peace.
Father God we come to You in Jesus name and we thank You that we can come boldly through Jesus who said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. We thank You that You hear us because of Jesus. We lift our dear one to You now. Lord please heal her broken heart and lift this depression and surround her with Your love and presence. Please bring peace to her home and help her mom and dad and sister to speak with kindness and respect and help her to honor her parents and to communicate with gentleness. Lord set healthy boundaries over her room and belongings and bring mutual understanding. Lord touch her body and bring relief from allergies, sore throat, runny nose, menstrual pain and itchiness, rash on her hands, and sore gums, and guide her medical care and make her medicine effective. Lord grant her wisdom and strength for weight loss and help her to care for her body in a way that honors You. Lord bring healing and understanding to her friendship and help her mom to stop speaking hurtful words over her. Lord provide for her dress and let the stains be removed and the holes be mended for her program party. Cover her with Your peace that passes all understanding and remind her daily that she is fearfully and wonderfully made and deeply loved by You. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen.
