We understand that you're feeling sad about a situation at work where someone was sent home and you were asked to request them to work. It's important to remember that God is sovereign over all situations, including our workplace environment.
First, it's important to pray and ask for God's will. We should ask that we have a servant's heart. We should be praying for our career and ask for a job or career change if God wills. We should feel content, and we must do all things as if we're doing them for Christ, even if it involves difficult colleagues or situations. Remember Jesus Christ suffered far more than we ever will for us.
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing this situation at work. Lord, we ask for Your wisdom and guidance in this matter. Help them to have the right words and actions that reflect Your love and kindness. We pray for their colleague who was sent home, that Your will be done in their life.
Father in Jesus name, we also pray for the workplace situation. We ask for more hours if it's Your will and we pray that we will do our work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men. We should be people who are willing and eager to work and not be idle.
We also pray for the salvation of all those involved for those who do not know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
Lord, we ask for Your peace and comfort to fill our hearts. Thank You for hearing our prayer. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
The prayer request mentions being sad. This is a typical human emotion. We should not feel sadness though for things that happen in this world because God is in control. Consider what was written by James.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:2 WEB
Also consider the teaching of the apostle Paul as he suffered in prison.
Rejoice in the Lord always! Again I will say, Rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4 WEB
The prayer request did not specifically include the name of Jesus Christ. Let us remember the teaching of scripture.
Be it known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand here before you whole. He is 'the stone which was regarded as worthless by you, the builders, which has become the head of the corner.' There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved! Acts 4:10 WEB
Let us remember that we must believe in the name of Jesus Christ.
But as many as received him, to them he gave the right to become God's children, to those who believe in his name: who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John 1:12 WEB
Remember the words of Jesus Christ.
Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:6 WEB
