He is faithful and true, and He calls His people to live soberly, righteously and godly because that reflects His own character.
You also wrote that you wonder if you deserve punishment. The Bible is clear that all of us need mercy, and that mercy is found only through Jesus Christ. He took the punishment for sin upon Himself so that those who trust in Him can receive grace, forgiveness, and eternal life as a gift. You are not forgotten or marked for rejection because you are tired and hurting. In Christ, God offers love and restoration, not condemnation for those who come to Him in faith.
