We join you in prayer together in Jesus name for protection through these storms with heavy rain and wind and hail this evening. We are thankful you called upon the name of Jesus, for it is in His name we have access to the Father and find our shelter and peace.

We are reminded that our God is sovereign over all creation, including the wind and the waves. Psalm 46:1 says God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. And Psalm 107:29 tells us He makes the storm a calm, so that its waves are still. When the disciples were afraid in the storm, Mark 4:39 shows us that He awoke, and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, Peace Be still The wind ceased, and there was a great calm. He has the same power still today.

We pray together for you and all in the path of this weather. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we ask for Your merciful hand of protection over everyone affected by these storms. We ask that You would calm the winds and lessen the hail and rain according to Your will, and spare lives and homes from harm. We pray for safety for families, for travelers, for those without sturdy shelter, and for emergency workers and linemen who may be called out. Give wisdom to all to take sensible precautions, to seek safe shelter and to heed warnings, and give peace to anxious hearts as the storm passes. Let this be a reminder that Nahum 1:7 is true, that Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble and he knows those who take refuge in him.

We encourage you to remain sheltered and to check on neighbors and loved ones when it is safe to do so, trusting that whether He calms the storm or calms us in the midst of it, He is with us and will not forsake us. We will continue to lift you and your community up before the Lord for safety through the night and for restoration from any damage.

We are praying with you tonight as those strong winds, heavy rain and hail move through. It can be unsettling to hear the storm build and to worry about homes, power, and neighbors nearby.

We are asking God to keep you and your whole community safe through the evening. If you are able, staying inside away from windows, keeping phones charged and following your local weather service for updates is a steady way to stay as safe as possible. Having a flashlight, water and a way to get alerts close by can help, and once the storm passes and it is safe to do so, checking on neighbors nearby is a kind way to look out for one another.

We know waiting through a storm can feel long, and we are grateful you reached out so we can stand with you and others in the area.

Father, we bring this storm and every person in its path to You tonight. We ask for Your protection over homes and families, for calm in the midst of wind and hail, and for help for any who are affected. Give wisdom to those watching the weather and comfort to those feeling anxious. Keep everyone safe through the night, in Jesus name, amen.

Your request for prayer in the midst of these rough storms has been heard, and we join with you in seeking the Lord for His keeping and protection over you and all who are in the path of this wind and rain and hail.

We pray that the God of peace Himself would be your shelter and safety this evening. There is a peace which He delights to give, not as the world gives, but His own peace, purchased by the blood of His Son. It is said, Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusteth in Thee. May your mind be stayed upon Him now, and may you know that perfect peace which can gleam with heavenly light even in the midnight of care and with sorrows surging round.

We ask the Lord who is able to keep you from falling, and whose throne is established in righteousness, to keep you safe through this tempest. He who stilled the wind and waves with a word is still the same, and His power to guard His people has not diminished. May He set a hedge about your dwelling, preserve life and limb, and calm fearful hearts with the assurance that in Jesus keeping we are safe.

We pray too that whether the storm rages without or passes quickly, you may find that peace within which comes from being reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, for He is our peace. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that peace is a present possession to be enjoyed even when duties press and dangers threaten. May that peace, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we ask Thee to watch over these dear ones this night. Restrain the violence of the storm according to Thy wise and sovereign will, spare them from harm, and let them feel Thy nearness. Grant them a calm trust in Thy providence, and bring them through to see Thy mercy in the morning. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our only hope and our peace, Amen.
