We hear your heart’s cry for restoration, and we come before the Lord with you, lifting this situation in the mighty name of Jesus. First, we must gently but firmly address the concern in your request, pursuing a romantic or intimate relationship with a non-believer is not aligned with God’s design for His children. Scripture is clear on this matter:
"Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14 WEB). The Lord calls us to walk in holiness and to seek a spouse who shares our faith, for only then can a marriage be built on the solid foundation of Christ. A relationship where one partner does not know the Lord will inevitably lead to spiritual conflict, compromise, and heartache.
We must also rebuke the enemy’s deception in this situation. The devil seeks to entangle believers in relationships that distract them from God’s best, offering counterfeit love that leads away from truth. If you have already entered into emotional or physical intimacy with this person, we urge you to repent and turn away from any sin of fornication, for "flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB). True love waits and honors God’s boundaries.
Now, we pray for you with hearts full of compassion and truth:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus, the name above every name. Lord, we lift up this dear one to You, asking for Your mercy, wisdom, and conviction to flood their heart. Father, we ask that You break any ungodly soul ties or emotional attachments that have formed with this non-believer. Sever any cords of deception, lust, or false affection that the enemy has used to blind them to Your will. We declare that their heart belongs to You first, Lord, and we ask that You fill them with a holy discontent for anything that does not align with Your Word.
Father, we pray for the non-believer in this situation. If it is Your will, draw them to Yourself, Lord. Open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel and soften their heart to receive Jesus as their Savior. Let them see the love of Christ through the testimony of this believer, not through a romantic relationship, but through a life lived in obedience to You. If this person is not the one You have for them, Lord, close every door and remove them from their path, replacing this desire with a hunger for Your presence and Your perfect plan.
Lord, we ask that You restore this one to a place of wholehearted devotion to You. Heal any loneliness, insecurity, or fear that may have driven them to seek companionship outside of Your will. Fill them with Your peace, joy, and confidence in Your timing. Surround them with godly friendships and mentors who will encourage them in their walk with You. Give them the strength to walk away from this relationship if it does not honor You, and replace any loss with the fullness of Your love.
Father, we declare that no weapon formed against this one will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We break every assignment of the enemy designed to keep them in bondage to ungodly relationships. We speak restoration over their heart, mind, and spirit, restoration to Your purpose, Your peace, and Your perfect will. May they find their identity and worth in You alone, and may they trust You to provide a godly spouse in Your perfect timing.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, the One who died to set us free from every chain. Amen.
Beloved, we encourage you to surrender this situation fully to the Lord. Trust that He has a plan for your life that is far greater than anything you could imagine (Jeremiah 29:11). Seek Him first, and He will direct your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you have not already, consider joining a Bible-believing church or small group where you can grow in your faith and meet other believers who can support and encourage you. The Lord is faithful, and He will not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11). Keep your eyes on Jesus, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has prepared for you.
