You have asked to get things done through Jesus, and that places the emphasis exactly where it belongs. Everything God has done for you has been done through his Son. Through Jesus you have been brought near, and through faith in him you have direct access to God. That access is not something you earn by finishing enough tasks or keeping a flawless record. It is already yours because you are a child of God through faith in Christ Jesus. The ground is level at the cross, and you come to the Father the same way every believer does.
Because that is true, do not turn your work into an attempt to improve your standing before God. The law was never meant to make you righteous by your own effort. It was meant to show you your need for a Savior and drive you to Christ. If you are in him, you are complete in him. His righteousness has been credited to you through faith. You cannot add to that by doing more, and you cannot lose it by failing at your list. Your whole past has been blotted out through faith in Jesus.
So the way to get things done through Jesus is not to strive anxiously as if everything depends on you. As you have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him. Be rooted and built up in him. Let him be the center rather than yourself. Bring the tasks before him in faith, trusting him to work through you. When the outlook is dark, lift up your head, because your hope is Jesus himself and not your performance. Set your affection on things above, since your life is hidden with Christ in God. The old life driven by fear and self effort is dead. Now you live by faith in the Son of God who loved you and gave himself for you.
Father, thank you that through Jesus we have peace with you and access into grace. Teach this one to rest in Christ's finished work and to walk rooted in him. Accomplish what concerns your child according to your will, and let all glory go to Jesus. In his name, Amen.
