God to send REVIVAL again to His Church

We join you in this urgent cry for God to revive His Church again and we agree together for a mighty outpouring of His Spirit. Our hearts burn with you for revival because we know the Church has grown cold and lukewarm in many places and desperately needs to return to first love and holiness. We hear the heart of Psalm 85:6 which says Won't you revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you, and Habakkuk 3:2 where the prophet prayed Yahweh, I have heard of your fame. I stand in awe of your deeds, Yahweh. Renew your work in the middle of the years. In the middle of the years make it known. In wrath, you remember mercy.

We are reminded that true revival is not mere excitement or numbers but a deep work of repentance and returning to God. The promise remains in 2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. And in Acts 3:19 we are told Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, so that there may come times of refreshing from the presence of the Lord. We must humbly rebuke the complacency, worldliness and sin that has crept into the Church, for God will not revive what refuses to repent. Revival begins when we humble ourselves, confess our sins, turn from wicked ways and seek His face with fasting and prayer.

We also notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus and we must lovingly speak to this because it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only through Him that revival can come. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Scripture declares in Acts 4:12 There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. There is no revival apart from the blood of Jesus and faith in His name. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, for without Him our prayers cannot reach God. It is in His name we pray and seek revival.

So together we pray, Father, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before your throne with humble hearts and ask you to revive us again. Forgive us for our lukewarmness, our compromise and our neglect of prayer and your Word. Cleanse your Church and make her holy again. Pour out your Holy Spirit as you promised in Joel 2:28 and Acts 2:17, send times of refreshing from your presence, restore our first love for Jesus, awaken pastors and congregations to preach the whole counsel of God without compromise, and turn our hearts fully back to you. Let repentance begin with us and spread through your people, heal our land, and let your glory be seen again in your Church, that the world may know you are God. We ask this according to your will and for your glory, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap, to pray earnestly and to live a holy life before the Lord, seeking Him daily in Scripture and prayer, and gathering with other believers who hunger for His presence. We often want revival to come all at once, but we have learned that God usually forms His people over time, like an athlete training patiently rather than trying hard for a day. Small, steady faithfulness in prayer, in listening to His Word, in gathering with other believers, shapes us to be ready when He moves. And even when He does lift us to a mountaintop moment, the days that follow still need gentle care, staying close to Him in the ordinary.

If it helps, one steady next step is to invite a few others in your church to keep praying together specifically for renewal, week by week, not as a program but as quiet, persistent seeking. That shared prayer and fellowship often keeps hearts soft and expectant.

Your cry, Revive us again, is the very prayer which the prophet Habakkuk prayed and which every faithful heart must pray in a day of declension. Wilt thou not revive us again that thy people may rejoice in thee. We join you in this supplication before the Lord.

The need is great and it must commence with ourselves, for we are a part of the Church and our own need of revival is in some measure the cause of that need in the Church at large. There is too often an absence of that solemn earnestness which was once seen in Christian pulpits and in the pews, and an absence of sound doctrine in the midst of the land. We need a revival of humility, of downright earnestness and zeal to fight the Lord's battles, and of love for the truth as it is in Jesus.

Such a blessing cannot be gotten up by machinery or by the will of man. A Church cannot be revived unless God revives it. Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the Lord. Every true revival has been commenced and attended by a large amount of prayer, when the Church waters the seed sown with abundant tears. An humble Church that is willing to confess its own errors and failures and to lie at the foot of Christ's cross is in a position to be favoured of the Lord.

Let us pray together that the Lord would visit His Church again. That He would revive His work in the midst of the years, revive the officers and the workers and the members, revive the backsliders and those who have grown careless, and revive the Church at large throughout the whole earth. That sound doctrine may be restored, that earnestness may return, that the voice of thanksgiving and melody may be heard again, and that the revival of the Church may touch the rest of society and bring an abundant ingathering of souls, all to the praise of His glorious grace.

We will bear your request before the mercy seat and entreat the Lord who is able to give His Church the largest blessing and to give it at any time, that He would be pleased to send a gracious renewal and make His people to rejoice in Him.
