Your request for revelation and deeper understanding is one God delights to answer. The very word translated revelation means an unveiling, the lifting of a covering so that what was there all along can be seen. It is not a sealed or hidden book. From the first verse we learn it is the unveiling of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show to His servants. He sent it by His messenger to John, and at times others were used to help explain what John was seeing. The heart of it is not a puzzle to keep you in the dark, but a gracious showing of Jesus Himself.
That helps us know how to pray for you. In Revelation 1:19 the Lord gives a simple key to understanding, telling John to write the things you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will be after these things. God reveals in an orderly way, what has been, what is now, and what is to come, so His people can walk in clarity and not confusion. He does not hide His will from His children, He shows His servants what they need to know in order to follow Him.
So my prayer for you is shaped by Scripture. Isaiah speaks of the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord and of quick understanding, and the apostle Paul prayed that believers would receive the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of understanding would be opened to know the hope of His calling and the riches of His inheritance. True guidance comes as you see Jesus more clearly.
I pray for you now in the name of Jesus, that the Father would give you that Spirit of wisdom and understanding. That He would unveil Jesus Christ to you more fully, and in that light give you clear guidance for the specific matter on your heart. That He would grant you counsel and knowledge, calm your mind, remove confusion, and direct your steps. That you would know His will for this moment and have peace to follow it, acknowledging Him in all your ways and trusting Him to make your path straight. May you experience His help, His strength and His nearness as you seek Him, and may you come to know more deeply how much you are valued as His child.
