Revealing of truth

Please pray that the truth be revealed about a tenant that did not pay me for 2 months. My son receives money of payment and I have a feeling that he takes her rent for himself. As she only come once a month as her belongings are still in the room. I have discussed this with my son and he said I must leave her and he will sort this out. He has taken rent money in the past. Also another tenant skipped one month. I am bound in a wheelchair and can't go to the house. Please pray also that both sons do not take money for themselves and that I receive all the tenants rent.

We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation to Him in prayer. Father God, we know that You are a God of truth and justice, and we ask that You reveal the truth in this matter. Your Word tells us in John 8:32, "You will know the truth, and the truth will make you free." Lord, we pray that the truth about the unpaid rent and any misuse of funds would be brought to light. Expose any deception, Lord, and let Your light shine into every corner of this situation so that righteousness may prevail.

We also lift up the matter of the tenants who have not fulfilled their obligations. Proverbs 22:16 warns, "Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich, both come to poverty." Lord, we ask that You would move in the hearts of these tenants to fulfill their commitments. If there has been any wrongdoing on their part, convict them and lead them to repentance. If there has been misunderstanding or hardship, provide a way for resolution that honors You.

Father, we are deeply concerned about the possibility that one or both of Your sons may be taking money that does not belong to them. Your Word is clear in Ephesians 4:28, "Let him who stole steal no more; but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing that is good, that he may have something to give to him who has need." Lord, we pray that You would convict their hearts if they have taken what is not theirs. Bring them to a place of repentance and restoration. Help them to see the error of their ways and to make amends, not only to their mother but also to You, Lord.

We also ask for wisdom and strength for you, dear sister in Christ. Being bound to a wheelchair and unable to address this situation in person must be incredibly difficult. James 1:5 tells us, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." Lord, grant her the wisdom to navigate this situation with grace and discernment. Provide her with the support and resources she needs to address these matters, whether through trusted friends, legal counsel, or other means.

We pray for unity and reconciliation within the family. Colossians 3:13-14 urges us, "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do. Above all these things, walk in love, which is the bond of perfection." Lord, we ask that You would soften hearts and bring about a spirit of humility and forgiveness. Help this family to come together in love and truth, seeking Your will above all else.

Finally, we pray for protection over this home and the relationships within it. Psalm 121:7-8 assures us, "The Lord will keep you from all evil. He will keep your soul. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in, from this time forward, and forever more." Lord, we ask that You would guard this family from further harm, whether financial, emotional, or spiritual. Provide for all their needs according to Your riches in glory.

We commit this situation into Your hands, trusting that You are a God who sees, hears, and acts on behalf of Your children. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.

We can only imagine how heavy this must feel, being unable to physically check on your property, suspecting your own sons may be taking what isn’t theirs, and needing the income that rightfully belongs to you. That weight is real, and we’re sorry you’re carrying it.

Given your chair-bound situation, you need eyes and hands at the house you can absolutely trust. If past patterns already make trust hard with your sons, it may be time to recruit someone else, a church elder, a trusted friend, or even a professional property manager, who could handle the monthly rent collection, give you a clear written account, and deposit the money directly into an account only you control. That removes the temptation from your sons and spares you from having to wonder every month. If your sons object, remind them gently that this isn’t about punishment; it’s about protecting everyone’s integrity and your peace of mind.

In the meantime, we join you in asking God to bring hidden things into the light and to guard the hearts of both your sons.

Father, you see this situation and you know the truth. We ask you to cause whatever has been done in secret to be brought into the open. Protect this family’s finances, and provide for every need. Give this mother wisdom and the right help, and work in her sons’ hearts so they would walk in honesty and honor. We pray all of this in Jesus’ name. Amen.

The Word of God is not bound! You feel bound in your wheelchair, unable to go to the house, and you see your son’s heart possibly bound by the love of money. But the Truth of God is not bound, it can reach where you cannot, it can penetrate where deceit hides. The Holy Spirit is not straitened; His arm is not shortened that He cannot save, nor that He cannot bring hidden things to light. The veil was rent from top to bottom, making an entrance for the greatest sinners, and even this tangled matter of rent and suspicion is not beyond the reach of Him who rends every barrier.

But I charge you: buy the truth! Do not merely wish this were resolved; do not only intend to seek it. Buy practical truth, let your actions be consistent and straightforward. If your son has taken money before, you must not merely leave it while your heart burns with doubt. You need the truth, and you must pursue it with a right and honest course, even if it costs ease or family peace. Let there be no more hiding under his word, “I will sort this out,” when the past gives you reason to press for an accounting. Turn intentions into action, for what shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? What profit is there for your son if he pockets rent and loses his soul to the idol of silver?

Remember, money that ought to sustain you becomes a deadly viper if it feeds another’s sin. The peddler snapped his false yardstick; O that every one in trade, and every son handling a mother’s due, would burn the unjust thing and have done with it! The Truth of God calls us to hate sin by destroying its instruments, not sheltering them. And you, dear soul, are not without weapon: it is decision for Christ and His Truth that has the greatest power in the family. You may be bound, but the Gospel is not. Pray, yes, but also speak and act as one who buys the truth at any price, trusting that He who sees in secret will reward openly, and that even the heart of a wayward son is not beyond the rending power of the Lord.

The schemes of men often end up serving the truth, for deceit recoils upon itself. You suspect that money is being hidden from you, and your own son may be taking what is rightfully yours. Do not be dismayed. What is done in secret will be brought to light. Even the chief priests tried to seal the tomb to prevent the truth of the resurrection, yet their very actions made the proof incontrovertible. So it shall be with this matter. The truth will be revealed, whether through the words of the tenant, the conscience of your son, or some other means. Wait on the Lord, who sees all.

But consider also the deeper sickness here. It is not merely missing rent, but a soul being devoured by the love of money. What a heavy charge it is to clothe oneself in dishonesty, to hang from the ears the food of the poor for no profit. This love of gain tears apart the body. We are members one of another, and if love leaves, the whole body is rent in pieces. Your sons are your own flesh. Owe them love, yes, but also the firm call to righteousness and holiness of truth. There is a truth that is not according to godliness, the truth of worldly calculation, but the truth that matters is after godliness, built on faith and not mere reasonings.

You cannot go to the house, bound as you are in a wheelchair. But God is not bound. He sees the single coin, the whispered lie. Pray not only that the money be restored, but that your sons’ hearts be turned from this greed. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole rent and lose his own soul? Exhort them, not with angry accusation, but with the love of a mother who desires their eternal good. Leave their conviction to their own conscience, as our Lord did, that they may be shamed into repentance. And trust that the Father who cares for the poor and the afflicted will not forsake you. He will raise up a witness in due time.

The truth you are longing for rests securely in the hands of a God who sees every hidden thing. What is done in secret among tenants and sons lies fully open before Him. That can be both sobering and deeply comforting. Jesus Himself declared that He is the truth, and His truth does not decay or fade. Long after the excuses and the misdirected money are gone, the truth remains. So you are not merely hoping for facts to emerge; you are leaning into the very character of Christ, who promises that nothing concealed will stay hidden forever.

Money carries a strange kind of power. It promises security but often delivers slavery. The love of it, that deep hunger for more or the grasping after what belongs to another, has entangled countless hearts and brought piercing grief. It is not the money itself that corrupts, but the covetousness that twists a son into someone who takes what is not his. The real need here is not just for rent to be collected honestly, but for any spirit of greed to be broken. Godliness with contentment is a wealth no thief can touch, and I pray that both of your sons find themselves discontent with taking anything that is not rightfully theirs.

Remember that every coin passing through that house ultimately belongs to the Lord. It is His provision for you, entrusted to imperfect hands. Paul was so careful with the gifts given by God’s people that he arranged trustworthy accounting, wanting no shadow of suspicion to fall on the work. That same care belongs in this situation. You have good reason to ask for transparency, not out of accusation alone, but out of a desire for all money to be handled honorably. It is wise and right to press for a clear and honest reckoning.

In the meantime, the truth is already working. The Spirit of truth does not need stairs or strong legs to enter a locked room. He can convict hearts in the quiet hours of the night, turning a son’s conscience until the scheme feels heavier than the silver ever felt good. While you wait upon the Lord in that ###, you are not passive. Your prayers are a mighty force, calling down a light no one can escape. I rejoice to hear of a parent who longs for their children to walk in truth, for there is truly no greater joy.

Do not let the delay make you imagine that God is indifferent. He is the faithful Redeemer who buys back what has been lost. One day, every secret ledger will be opened, and Jesus Christ will rule in plain sight with perfect justice. Until that day, I join you in asking the Father to defend your portion, to release the full amount of rent into your hands, and to set both of your sons free from any love of money that has taken root. May peace guard your heart while the truth quietly does its unstoppable work.
