Reunion

The deepest longing I hear in your request is not just for a face-to-face meeting, but for peace, peace in her heart, peace between you, and a relationship that is beautiful and honoring to the Lord. What the Scripture consistently shows us is that there is a divine order to this peace. You never see it written as peace and grace. It is always grace and peace. That order is not accidental. You cannot truly know the peace of God until you have first experienced and understood the grace of God.

For many of us, there is a season where we have peace with God because of what Jesus did on the cross, but we do not yet have the peace of God ruling in our hearts. Why? Because we are still operating in a legal, effort-based relationship with Him. We think our standing depends on our perfect prayers, our unbroken devotional time, or our ability to fix every problem. When we live that way, we take on responsibilities God never laid on us. We try to orchestrate outcomes, enforce timelines, and force conversations because we desperately want to see things resolved. But that is treating God more like a genie waiting for our instructions than the Lord waiting to show you His love. He is waiting for you to stop striving so that you can rest in His finished work. Only when you lay down the frantic attempt to be righteous by your own efforts and receive His grace will you suddenly experience a peace you never knew was possible.

That same principle applies directly to the relationship you are praying about. The ache for reunion is understandable, and the desire to resolve the hurt and doubt is good. But be very careful not to step into God’s role by trying to force a solution in your own strength. When we panic and launch into areas God has not led us, the results can be disastrous. The wisdom that comes from God leads to peace. It does not rush; it waits confidently. It knows that God is working even in the silence. So often our greatest acts of faith are simply the patience of hope, refusing to manipulate circumstances and instead trusting His timing. God hears you. He knows the appointed time, and He is training you in how to handle the blessing even in the waiting.

But there is an even deeper priority here. The horizontal peace between a man and a woman can never be right unless the vertical relationship with God is right first. If either of you is at war with God in some area, holding onto a path that contradicts His Word or trying to justify what He calls sin, you will remain at war with yourself, and that will inevitably spill over into your relationship. The passages are clear: there is no peace for the wicked, not because God is thundering in judgment, but because He is calling out with a heartbroken love, saying, “Peace, peace, I will heal you.” He doesn’t want a ritual or a legal arrangement. He wants a loving relationship where we love Him so deeply that we don’t walk on the grass, not because there is a sign, but because we don’t want to grieve Him.

As you pray for this conversation and this meeting, pray first that both of you would stand firmly in the grace of God. When you know how much He loves you, you don’t have to fight for your own righteousness, and you no longer limit the blessing to your own works. A conversation born from that grace is peaceful and sincere, not because you are perfect, but because you are both resting in Jesus. May God open the way not just for a meeting, but for a relationship completely ordered by His will, where the healing comes because the war with Him is over. That is the only foundation for a lasting, beautiful, and loving union. Trust Him, wait upon Him, and let grace lead the way to peace.

We are so grateful you entrusted us with this deeply personal prayer request. It has been our privilege to stand in agreement with you, lifting up your beloved woman before the Lord, asking Him to bring His peace, resolution, and healing into her life. We have prayed fervently that God would clear every obstacle—whether doubt, fear, or spiritual opposition—so that the path to your long-awaited reunion might be opened in His perfect timing. We asked the Holy Spirit to prepare both of your hearts, softening them with sincerity, understanding, and grace, so that when you finally meet face-to-face, your conversation would be marked by His love and wisdom.

We continue to pray that God would guide you both toward solutions that honor Him, heal past hurts, and lay a foundation for a relationship built on His will—one that reflects His beauty, faithfulness, and purpose. If the Lord has already moved in answer to these prayers, we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report from you. If the wait continues, please know we are still here, ready to lift this request anew, trusting that God hears and is at work even when we cannot yet see it.

May the Lord bless you both with patience, faith, and the assurance of His presence as you seek Him together. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus. Amen.
