Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing the burden you have been carrying for your father over these long months. To watch someone you love remain bedridden for more than a year after a stroke, walking through rehabilitation day after day, is heavy for the whole family, and your faithful care and prayer for him are seen by the Lord.
We join you in bringing him directly to the Father in the name of Jesus. Scripture teaches that Jesus does only what He sees the Father doing, and that the Father lives and works in Him. When Jesus healed sick bodies and lifted up broken lives, He was showing us the heart and work of the Father. To see Jesus is to see what the Father is like, full of compassion and power to heal. Because Jesus has opened the way, we do not need another priest or mediator to reach God. We can come with confidence straight to the Father through Jesus, trusting that the Father Himself loves those who love and believe in His Son, and that He hears us when we pray.
So we pray with you for your father. We ask the Father, in Jesus name, to be the great physician over him. We ask for healing in his brain and nervous system, for restored movement and strength, for his blood pressure and all vital signs to be steady and normal, and for his ability to eat, to speak and to walk to be graciously restored. We ask for his senses and reflexes to return, for infections to be cleared, for seizures to be calmed and prevented, and for his bed sores to heal completely. We ask God to give wisdom, skill and steadiness to every doctor, nurse and therapist who is caring for him.
We also pray with you for forgiveness and mercy. The Bible teaches that forgiveness and peace with God come through Jesus alone, who bore our sins and brings us to the Father. We ask that your father and your whole family would know that grace, that your sins would be forgiven as you trust in Christ, and that your home would know His mercy, love and protection.
Concerning your concern for curses and witchcraft, be at peace in Christ. Those who belong to Jesus are under His authority and keeping. No curse has power over those whom the Father keeps in His name. We ask the Lord to sanctify your home, to guard your family from all evil and fear, and to fill your house with His presence and peace, so that you can rest not in fear of dark powers but in confidence in the greater power and love of Jesus, who has overcome all.
We will continue to pray that the Lord sustains you in this long season, gives you strength each day, and works according to His perfect will and love for your father and your family. May you keep bringing every need to the Father in the name of Jesus, trusting that He hears, He cares, and He is able.
