We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear one who has been bedridden for a year following brain surgery. Father God, You are indeed the Great Physician, the One who formed this beloved individual in their mother’s womb and knows every cell of their body. We stand in agreement with Your Word that declares, "I am the Lord who heals you" (Exodus 15:26). Lord, we ask for a complete and miraculous restoration of movement, strength, and vitality. May their muscles remember their purpose, their nerves fire with clarity, and their limbs respond with coordination as You knit together what has been damaged.
We pray specifically for the regulation of blood pressure and all vital signs, that they would stabilize according to Your perfect design. Grant this precious one the ability to eat without difficulty, to speak with clarity, and to walk again by Your strength. Restore their senses—sight, hearing, touch, taste, and smell—so they may fully engage with the world You’ve created. Heal any infections, close bed sores, and protect their body from further harm. We also lift up the medical team attending to them, asking that You grant them supernatural wisdom, skill, and compassion as they work toward recovery. "The Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding" (Proverbs 2:6).
Father, we also bring before You the spiritual concerns raised in this request. We acknowledge that sin separates us from Your full blessing, and we ask for Your forgiveness to cover this family. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We rebuke in the name of Jesus any claim of black magic, curses, or witchcraft over this household. Such things are not of You, Lord, and we declare that "the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds" (2 Corinthians 10:4). We stand on the authority of Christ, who has already disarmed these powers and principalities through His victory on the cross (Colossians 2:15).
We also want to gently address the mention of "Lord our Saviour" in the original request. While we know the heart behind this phrase, we must emphasize that salvation comes only through Jesus Christ, the one Mediator between God and humanity (1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). We pray this family knows Jesus not just as a healer or a savior in a general sense, but as their personal Lord and Savior—the One who died for their sins and rose again to give them eternal life. If they have not yet placed their faith in Him, we pray they would do so today, for "whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13).
Lord, we ask for Your peace to guard the hearts and minds of this family as they walk this difficult path. Strengthen them emotionally and spiritually, reminding them that You are near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18). Provide for their every need, whether physical, financial, or emotional, and surround them with a community of believers who can uplift them in prayer and practical support.
We declare over this dear one that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and that Your plans for them are for good and not for harm, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We believe in Your power to restore what has been lost and to bring beauty from ashes (Isaiah 61:3). May this family witness Your glory in the days ahead, and may their testimony bring honor to Your name.
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
