Beloved of All
🔥 Return to Our 1st Love Rev 2:4, Grace to Receive Love from God, Love God with All Our Heart, Soul, Mind, Will, Emotions, Physical Strength & Finances, Mk 12:30, and Love Our Neighbors as Ourselves💞 Mk 12:31, 1 Cor 13:1-14:3, Phil 2:1-11, Extra Grace to Pray, Study, Worship, Put away Distractions, "Choose the Better Part" as Mary, Luke 10:41-42, Life from Vine, Jn 15:1-8, Naturally Edifying Church, Sharing The Gospel, Make Disciples, Pray in Spirit, Jude 1:20, "Do The Things We Did at First" Rev 2:5... Father, thank You for Your great love, "We love because You first loved us," 1 Jn 4:19, Jn 3:16. Help us "repent and do the things we did at first," Rev 2:5, i.e., when we were first saved. Extra grace to pray (in The Holy Spirit) & study the Bible so we can learn His Word and extra grace to pray so we can share the Truth filled with "Power from on high," Acts 1:8, The Holy Spirit, His fruit, Gal 5:22-23, and gifts, 1 Cor 14:1-2, and holiness. Help us "Make Disciples, baptize (die to self and live for Christ, Gal 2:20) and teach obedience to all Christ taught, Matt 28:19-20. Protect us from distractions, sin and the evil one, Matt 6:13. Give extra grace and discipline to dig in deeply over this summer and throughout all our Lives. Let us "choose the best part "as Mary, who "listened to Jesus' Teaching in a posture of humility," Luke 10:40-41, which The Lord promised would not be taken away, Luke 10:42. Thank You so much for Your love, Holy is Your Name, in Jesus' Name.

"O Lord, please light the fire That once burned bright and clear Replace the lamp of my first love That burned with Holy Fear," in "O Lord, You're Beautiful," Kieth Green, May 7, 1980.

We join you in this cry to return to our first love and we say amen to this prayer with you, for the Lord Himself has said, But I have this against you, that you left your first love in Rev 2:4 and then He calls us to Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent and do the first works in Rev 2:5. We hear your heart to love God with all that we are and to love our neighbors as ourselves, according to the greatest commandments, You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength in Mark 12:30 and You shall love your neighbor as yourself in Mark 12:31.

We agree that we cannot love Him until we first receive His love, for We love him, because he first loved us in 1 John 4:19 and For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life in John 3:16. That receiving comes as we abide in Him, for He is the vine and we are the branches. Jesus said, Remain in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself unless it remains in the vine, so neither can you, unless you remain in me in John 15:4 and Apart from me, you can do nothing in John 15:5. It is from that place of abiding that love, joy, peace and all the fruit described in Gal 5:22-23 naturally flow, and from that place the church is edified in love as described in 1 Cor 13:1-14:3 and in humility as in Phil 2:1-11.

We also hear your desire for grace to choose the better part as Mary did. Martha was worried and troubled about many things while Mary sat at the Lord's feet and heard his word, and Jesus said, One thing is needed. Mary has chosen the good part, which will not be taken away from her in Luke 10:42. We confess together that distractions, busyness, sin and the schemes of the evil one so easily choke that time at His feet, and we ask the Father to deliver us as Jesus taught us to pray, Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one in Matt 6:13.

We pray together now for this extra grace and discipline you have asked for.

Father, we thank You for Your great love poured out through Jesus Christ Your Son. We thank You that while we were still sinners Christ died for us and that You have first loved us. Forgive us for leaving our first love, for allowing our hearts to grow cold or divided, for loving other things more than You. We repent and turn back to You now. Restore to us the joy of our salvation and light again the fire that once burned bright and clear. Give us grace to receive Your love anew each day and to love You with all our heart, soul, mind, will, emotions, physical strength and finances. Teach us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

Pour out extra grace upon us to pray, to build ourselves up on our most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit in Jude 1:20, to study Your Word diligently, to worship in spirit and truth, and to put away every distraction that keeps us from You. Help us to choose the better part, to sit humbly at the feet of Jesus and listen to His teaching, and to remain in the Vine so that we bear much fruit that remains. Fill us with power from on high as You promised in Acts 1:8, with the fruit and gifts of Your Holy Spirit and with holiness, so that we may share the gospel with boldness and truth. Make us disciples who make disciples, helping others to die to self and live for Christ as in Gal 2:20, baptizing and teaching them to observe all things that You commanded in Matt 28:19-20, and building up the body of Christ in love.

Give us discipline to dig in deeply this summer and throughout all our lives, to do the first works again with a whole heart, and to walk in the holy fear and tender love that marked our first days with You. We ask all of this in the precious and only name by which we are saved and have access to Your throne, in Jesus' name, amen.

We hear how deeply you want to come back to your first love for the Lord and to love Him with your whole life and love your neighbors well. That honest hunger is something we thank God for in you.

It can feel overwhelming to want to pray more, study more, worship more, share more, all at once. One thing that has helped us is to think of growth less like trying hard for a day and more like training over time. Small, steady practices, kept regularly, shape us far more than intense bursts that leave us tired and discouraged.

For this summer it may help to keep it simple and sustainable. Choose one small rhythm you can actually keep, like the same ten or fifteen minutes each day in a quiet place with your phone put aside to pray and hear from His Word. When distractions come, just gently set them aside and return. That steady, unhurried time has a way of renewing love for Christ and then naturally overflowing to others around you as He opens doors.

We are grateful for your desire to walk closely with Him and to make Him known.

Father, thank You for first loving us. Draw our friend close again and renew joy in Your presence. Give grace for daily time with You, guard against distraction and the evil one, and let Your love overflow to neighbors and to those who need Your good news. Keep him abiding in You through this summer and all his days. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer is itself an evidence of grace at work, for none would long to return to his first love unless the Spirit of God had first quickened his soul and created in him that first look of faith. God remembers with grace the best things of His people's early days, the kindness of your youth and the love of your espousals, and He who first loved us, as you have well said, still waits to nourish that love in answer to prayer.

You have rightly heard the word of the Lord to the church in Revelation, I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works. This is not a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, but that holy repentance which is worked in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit and gives God glory. True repentance stands at the Cross and sees sin forgiven, and then repents more than ever, because it beholds the great finished work of Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us. It is a repentance that leads you to look out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, and in that looking, love is rekindled.

How did we lose that first love, and how shall we return to it. Often it is by neglecting communion with Christ. When we were in our first love, what would we do for Christ, and what would we not do, and now how little will we do. The remedy is to go back continually to first principles and to the great foundation stone, the cross of Christ. There you will be led to go back to your first love. And surely you have chosen the better part in desiring to sit as Mary did at the feet of Jesus and hear His word in a posture of humility. That part shall not be taken away from you. Martha was cumbered with much serving, but Mary chose communion, and so must we.

You ask for extra grace to pray, to study, to worship, and to put away distractions. This is a right and needful petition. Be much in prayer, for prayer makes the Christian's armor bright. He who taught you to pray at the first, when you asked that God would have mercy upon you and blot out your sin, and He heard that prayer, will hear you still. There is not a church that has had such answers to prayer as those who plead the name of Jesus. Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and let that word first have its true order in time and in affection. Be first a man of God, and after that whatsoever your calling may be. Throw your whole soul into the love and service of the Lord, to love Him with all your heart, and soul, and mind, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself.

Abide in the Vine, for apart from Him ye can do nothing. Let your life be drawn from Him daily through the Word and through prayer in the Spirit, as Jude exhorts, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost. In that abiding you will naturally bear fruit, the fruit of the Spirit which is love, joy, peace, and holiness, and you will have power from on high to share the Truth and to make disciples, teaching obedience to all that Christ has commanded.

I will pray for you to this end.

O Lord, who hast loved us with an everlasting love, we thank Thee that we love because Thou first loved us. Grant to this Thy servant true repentance unto life, a repentance that needs not to be repented of, and restore unto him the joy of his first love. Give extra grace and holy discipline to pray and to study Thy Word, to worship without distraction, and to choose the better part at Thy feet. Keep him abiding in Christ the Vine, that he may bring forth much fruit to Thy glory, and make him faithful in edifying Thy church and in making disciples. Protect him from sin and from the evil one, and let the spark of Thy eternal flame never be quenched in his heart. Light again the fire that once burned bright and clear, for Thy holy name's sake. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a good and holy desire you have set before the Lord, to return to your first love and to love Him with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. This is indeed the first and great commandment, and the second is like it, and when these two are kept, all else follows in its proper order. The Lord hears such a prayer with joy, for we love because He first loved us, and He gave His Son so that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.

You have asked well for grace to repent and to do the things you did at first. That is the path the Lord Himself showed, to remember, to repent, and to return to the first works with a humble heart. To choose the better part as Mary did, to sit at the feet of Jesus and listen to His teaching, is never taken away from those who seek it. Abiding in Him as a branch abides in the vine is the way to bear fruit, for apart from Him we can do nothing, but in Him we bring forth what edifies the church and makes His gospel known.

For this you will need the help you have asked for, extra grace to pray, to study the Scriptures, to worship, and to put away distractions. Prayer is a great weapon. If at the morning dawn we make God favorable to us by prayer and supplication, we go forth to the business of the day with security. The day is like a storm and the market place is like a war, and we need arms and favorable winds so that we are not shipwrecked. Learn to pray early and by night, soberly and with watchfulness, and to pray in the Holy Spirit as you have asked, building yourselves up in the most holy faith. Christ Himself prayed not because He needed to, but to teach us to apply ourselves to prayer without ceasing.

Do not forsake assembling together, for much strength comes from being together. Where two or three are gathered in His name, He is in the midst of them, and love is increased by gathering together, and when love is increased the things of God must follow. The prayer of brethren can do great things. Continue to seek a naturally edifying fellowship where the Word is taught, where disciples are made and taught to obey all that Christ commanded, and where the power from on high, the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts for the building up of the body, and a life of holiness are sincerely pursued.

I pray with you now that the Father will pour out that extra grace and discipline you have asked for, not only for this summer but for all your life. May He rekindle the fire that once burned bright and clear and restore the lamp of your first love with holy reverence. May He protect you from sin and the evil one and from every distraction that would pull you away, and keep you rooted in His Word, filled with love, joy, peace and all the fruit of the Spirit, and empowered to share the truth of the gospel and to make disciples. May you remain in Christ and He in you, bearing much fruit to the glory of the Father, in the name of Jesus. Amen.
