Disciple of Prayer
Please pray that ### returns home today and that his friend ### an adult gets employed and leaves the town or that something happens that they are not friends because this ### are feeding underage kids with booze and they were drunk.

We join you in lifting up this burden before the Lord together in Jesus name, and we share your concern for the safety of this young person and for the other underage children who have been exposed to alcohol.

We are deeply troubled to hear that an adult is providing alcohol to minors and encouraging drunkenness. Scripture is very clear that this is sinful and harmful. Ephesians 5:18 says, Do not be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit. Habakkuk 2:15 says, Woe to him who gives his neighbor drink, pouring your inflaming wine until he is drunk. And Romans 13:13-14 calls us to walk properly, as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness. Providing alcohol to underage youth is not only against the law but it endangers their bodies, their minds, and their souls, and we rebuke this practice in the name of Jesus. We also hear the seriousness of this harmful friendship. Proverbs 13:20 says, He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm, and 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns, Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals. An ungodly influence that leads young people into drunkenness must be broken.

We also notice that your request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We want to gently remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and that our prayers are heard. John 14:6 says, Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And Acts 4:12 says, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. If you have not already done so, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, believing in your heart that God raised Him from the dead and confessing with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, for Romans 10:9 says, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is in His name alone that we pray and find hope.

We pray together now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we seek Your will in this situation. Lord, we ask for Your protection over this young person. We pray that You would bring him home safely today, that You would keep him from all evil and keep his going out and his coming in, as You promise in Psalm 121:7-8. Lord, place Your hand upon him and upon the other young people who were given alcohol and became drunk. Convict them of the danger of drunkenness, heal any harm done to their bodies, and turn their hearts toward sobriety and toward You. We pray that You would break the power of this ungodly friendship. If it is Your will, provide lawful employment for this adult friend elsewhere and lead him away from this town, or in Your sovereign way separate this friendship so that he no longer has influence over these minors. More than outward separation, we pray for his heart, that You would convict him of his sin in leading children astray, bring him to repentance, and cause him to turn from this destructive path. Give wisdom to parents, guardians, and those in authority, James 1:5 says, But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him, so we ask for wisdom to know how to protect these children, to set godly boundaries, and to involve appropriate help if needed to keep minors safe. We pray for godly friendships to surround this young person, friendships that encourage purity, wisdom, and the fear of the Lord. Let Your peace guard the home that waits for his return, and let Your will be done above our own desires. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray fervently for his safe return, to stay in close contact with family and trusted godly counsel, and to ensure that responsible adults are aware of an adult providing alcohol to minors so that these children can be protected. Trust the Lord to act in His perfect timing and to bring good even out of this painful concern, for He is faithful to hear the prayers offered through His Son.

We hear how heavy this is for you, waiting for ### to come home and carrying worry about what happened with ### and the younger kids drinking. It makes sense you feel anxious and want them safe.

When underage kids have been given alcohol and were drunk, their safety comes first. Alongside prayer, we encourage you to make sure a trusted responsible adult knows what happened, and to reach out right away to local authorities or child protection services who can step in to protect minors. If ### has not returned or you are worried for his safety, please let someone nearby who can help know where he was last seen.

We are praying with you for his safe return and for wisdom for everyone involved, and for protection and care for the young people affected.

Father, we bring ### to You and ask for Your protection over him and for him to be safe and home soon. We ask for safety for the children involved and for wisdom and courage for those caring for them to take the right next steps. Guide this situation toward what is good and safe. In Jesus' name, amen.

We have brought your burden before the Lord and we join our hearts with yours in earnest prayer for the safe return of ### home today. The voice of God bids the wanderer to return, and to return now without delay, for life is uncertain and His mercy is offered today. We pray that the Lord in His wise providence would guide ###'s steps homeward, keep him from harm, and cover him under the shadow of His wings where there is safe shelter for His children, and that He would grant him a heart to return not only to home but unto the Lord his God with repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone, for there is salvation in no other.

We also pray for deliverance from the snare of ungodly companionship. Scripture warns that association with the ungodly tends to make men like them, and the righteous soul is vexed by the filthy conversation of the ungodly as Lot was vexed in Sodom. To give strong drink to the young and to lead them into drunkenness is an evil work that ripens toward judgment, and we pray that the Lord would convict all involved, awaken conscience, and bring them to abhor that evil way. We ask that God in His wisdom would break this harmful friendship by lawful and gracious means, whether by granting honest employment elsewhere that would remove this influence from the town or by otherwise ordering His providence so that ### is separated from this companionship and preserved from falling further. We do not ask God to bless what is sinful, but to restrain it and to turn hearts from it.

We pray also for ###, that God would show him the danger of his course, that he would see that to mislead and to put a stumbling block before the young is to incur the gaze of Him whose eyes are as fire, and that he would turn from his evil way and seek mercy while it may be found.

We pray for the children who were given drink and were made drunk, that the Lord would protect them from bodily and spiritual harm, heal what has been done, and guard them from returning to that sin. We encourage you to continue in watchful prayer and also to take wise and lawful steps for their protection, seeking the help of parents, guardians and proper authorities as needed, for the Lord often uses such means to restrain evil and to preserve the young.

May He who heard the prodigal and ran to meet him grant that this return would be immediate and complete, and that out of this sorrow there would come a true turning unto Him who still cries, Return, return. We commit you and all concerned to His keeping, trusting that He who has promised to cover His people with His feathers will verify His promise to those who trust Him. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.
