Restore marriage, stop divorce and break soul tie with new woman

Your pain has been heard and we join you in prayer before God who sees your tears and knows the ache of a covenant wounded.

Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that what God has joined together is not to be torn apart lightly. The Lord Jesus taught that to put away a wife except for sexual immorality and to join oneself to another is to commit adultery, and the apostles warn that this sin is not only against the spouse who is injured but against God Himself. When a husband who is bound to his wife defiles himself with another woman, even if she is free and not bound to another, he still breaks his vow and injures his own flesh and offends the Lord who gave the honor of marriage. This is why we cannot ask God to bless or affirm that new relationship, for God does not bless what He calls sin. Instead we ask Him to bring conviction, repentance and mercy.

We pray with you now for a miracle according to His will, and for His will to be done above all.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ alone by whom we are saved, have mercy. You are gracious to recast the soul as gold in a furnace and to make clean what sin has stained. We ask that you work by your Holy Spirit to convict of sin, to pluck up sin by the root, and to grant repentance and new life. We pray that you would break the sinful bond between this husband and the other woman and call both to turn from adultery and to walk in purity. We pray that you would hinder the course of divorce if it is your will to restore this marriage, soften a hardened heart, and open eyes to the covenant vow made before you. We pray for this wife who stands in sorrow, that you would guard her from despair, give her strength in affliction, surround her with wise and faithful counsel in the church, and keep her in holiness, prayer and patience. Let affliction not crush her but awaken deeper trust in you, for you have promised to make a way of escape that we may be able to bear trials. Grant wisdom to all involved, protection from further harm, and let your perfect and holy will be done in this family. Amen.

Do not sink under this trial alone. Seek the constant support of a local pastor and mature believers who can walk with you, counsel you in truth and love, and help you discern each next step with wisdom. Continue in prayer, in the Word, and in obedience, trusting that God is both just and merciful, that He hates sin because He loves souls, and that His grace is able to cleanse and renew any heart that truly turns to Christ. We will continue to pray that God is glorified in you, that sin is forsaken, and that whatever restoration He brings will be holy and lasting.

Your pain is deeply felt and your willingness to honor your marriage covenant is precious in the sight of God. The ache of seeing your husband turn toward another person before your marriage has legally ended is a heavy burden, and it is right to bring it honestly before the Lord.

God designed marriage to be more than a partnership. From the beginning He showed that a husband and wife become one flesh, a deep and living unity. The word the Bible uses for one when it says the Lord our God is one speaks of a compound unity, a oneness that holds more than one person together. Marriage reflects that same kind of oneness. Two distinct lives are joined by God into one, and Jesus taught that what God has joined together no person should separate. That is why your desire to stand for your marriage matters. You are honoring what God made to be one.

Scripture also helps us see sin clearly. When King David committed adultery, he later confessed that his sin was ultimately against God, because God had commanded not to take another person's spouse. Adultery is not only a wound against a husband or wife, it is disobedience against God Himself. For that reason the deepest need for your husband is not only to reconsider his feelings, but to see his actions before a holy God, to experience godly sorrow that leads to real repentance.

True turning to God is never only words. When tax collectors and sinners came to Jesus, the evidence that their hearts had changed was a changed life, a turning away from the old way and a restoration of what was broken. So we do not pray for God to bless a relationship that is outside His design for marriage. Sex and living together belong within the lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and any bond formed outside that covenant is not to be celebrated but repented of and forsaken. We pray instead that God will bring deep conviction, that the ungodly bond with this other woman will be broken, and that your husband will turn from this path and seek forgiveness from God and from you.

Let us pray together.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this marriage to You. You see this wife's sorrow and her faithful heart. You see her husband and the choices he is making. Lord, have mercy. Bring conviction of sin, open his eyes to see that this is sin against You, and grant him repentance that leads to a changed life. Break the power of this adulterous relationship and set him free from it. If it is Your will, restore this one flesh union and heal what has been torn apart. Give this wife strength, peace, and wisdom each day, guard her heart from bitterness, and surround her with godly counsel and support. Help her to walk in forgiveness while also walking in truth, not enabling sin but trusting You with the outcome. Your will be done, and may You be glorified in her life and in her family. Amen.

Continue to stand in prayer, but also keep your heart rooted in Christ and in His Word. Stay connected to wise and faithful believers who can counsel you face to face, care for your practical and emotional needs, and help you maintain healthy boundaries. Trust the Lord to be your strength whether restoration comes quickly or over time, and know that even in this painful waiting He is near, He hears, and He is able to bring healing and new life where there has been brokenness.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. We have continued to lift you and your husband before the Lord asking Him to intervene for the restoration of your marriage, to stop the divorce before the papers are signed and to break the soul tie between your husband and the new woman.

We know your heart aches as your husband has moved on from your marriage and says he loves his new life and his new girlfriend, and we honor your faith as you stand for your marriage as long as it takes while praying for a miracle and for His will to be done. We are holding onto the truth that what therefore God hath joined together let not man put asunder as written in Mark 10:9 and that the Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart as written in Psalm 34:18.

We pray together in Jesus Name that God would bring conviction and repentance to your husband, break every ungodly soul tie, soften his heart and turn him from this new relationship, heal the hurt in your heart and restore love and faithfulness in your covenant marriage according to His perfect will. We ask for strength for you to keep standing, for peace that passes understanding, and for a miracle that restores what seems broken.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.

May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name Amen.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for the restoration of your marriage.

We have been lifting you and your husband before the Lord, asking Him to intervene to stop the divorce, to break the soul tie with the new woman, and to soften your husband's heart that has turned toward his new life and new girlfriend. We know your heart aches while you wait as the papers remain unsigned, and we honor your faithfulness as you stand for your marriage as long as it takes while surrendering to His will be done. We continue to pray for a miracle, that God would open your husband's eyes, draw him to repentance, and restore what the enemy has sought to divide, for we remember the promise in Mark 10:9 and Matt 19:6.

If your request was answered and the Lord has begun to restore your marriage and turn your husband's heart toward home, please post a praise report and let us all know so we may rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered and your husband still says he loves his new life, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We will keep standing in the gap with you.

We pray now that the Lord will heal your broken heart as He is close to the brokenhearted in Psalm 34:18, that He will convict and break every ungodly soul tie, that He will place a hedge of protection around your marriage covenant, and that His perfect will be done in your lives. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ. We pray in Jesus Name, Amen.
