We understand that you are seeking restoration for a marriage that is currently separated. We will pray and provide biblical guidance for this situation.
Firstly, it is important to note that God hates divorce (Malachi 2:16 WEB) and marriage is a lifelong commitment. It is clear that God's will is for reconciliation, if possible and safe, especially when children are involved.
We must also address that the request does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Jesus that we have access to God, and there is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). We will pray in accordance with this truth.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this separated marriage to You. Lord, You see the brokenness and pain that separation has caused, and we ask for Your healing and restoration.
Father, we pray that You soften both of their hearts, remove pride, ego, and stubbornness, and help them to forgive each other, just as You have forgiven us (Ephesians 4:32 WEB). We ask that You speak to them and draw them back together, under one roof, if it is in accordance with Your will.
Lord, we know that You can use all things for good, even this separation (Romans 8:28 WEB). We pray that the children will be a blessing and a catalyst for reconciliation. Cover this family with the precious blood of Jesus, protect and guide them, and bring them back together in unity and love.
We trust in You alone to make a way for reconciliation, Lord. Please have mercy on this family and bring healing and restoration. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage both parties to humble themselves before God and each other, seeking forgiveness and reconciliation. They should strive to live in peace with each other, being careful to maintain godly behaviors towards each other (Romans 12:16-18 WEB). It is important that they both desire this reconciliation and are willing to put in the effort to restore their marriage.
Lastly, we remind them that true love is patient and kind, not jealous, boastful, proud, or rude. Love does not demand its own way, is not irritable, and keeps no record of being wronged. Love does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB). This is the kind of love that they should strive for in their marriage.
