We hear your heartfelt cry for your daughter and your family, and we join you in lifting these concerns before our Heavenly Father. Your desire for her to walk closely with the Lord, to be surrounded by godly influences, and to one day be united with a man who loves her as Christ loves the Church is deeply rooted in Scripture and honors God.
First, we rebuke any ungodly influence in your daughter’s life in the name of Jesus. The young man and his mother you mentioned must not be allowed to draw her away from the path of righteousness. We declare that she will not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of scoffers (Psalm 1:1). Instead, may her delight be in the law of the Lord, and may she meditate on it day and night, so she will be like a tree planted by streams of water, yielding fruit in season and prospering in all she does (Psalm 1:2-3). We pray that any ungodly soul ties or emotional attachments to this young man or his family would be broken by the power of the Holy Spirit, and that she would be set free to pursue God’s best for her life.
We also lift up the desire for a godly spouse for your daughter. Father, we ask that You would prepare a man after Your own heart, one who will love her sacrificially, as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her (Ephesians 5:25). May he be a spiritual leader, a protector, and a provider, one who respects her faith and honors her family. We pray that their relationship would be built on mutual submission to You, Lord, and that it would reflect the love, trust, and unity described in Your Word. May they both seek You first in all things, and may their union bring glory to Your name.
We rebuke any spirit of division, strife, or jealousy that may be at work in this situation. The enemy seeks to destroy relationships, but we declare that no weapon formed against your family shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We pray for healing and restoration over every hurt, every wound, and every broken place in your family. May the Lord bind up the brokenhearted and heal their wounds, just as He has promised (Psalm 147:3). We claim the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
However, we must also address a concern in your request. You mentioned a desire for a "broken relationship" to be mended. If this refers to your daughter’s current relationship with the young man you seek to remove from her life, we must caution you. If this relationship is not aligned with God’s Word—if it involves unequally yoked partnerships, ungodly influences, or even sexual immorality—then restoration may not be God’s will. The Bible is clear that believers should not be bound together with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If this young man is not a follower of Christ, or if his influence is pulling your daughter away from the Lord, then we must pray for separation, not reconciliation. We must trust that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His plans for her are for good, not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).
We also want to gently remind you that our access to God and the power of prayer comes only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). It is through His sacrifice on the cross, His resurrection, and our faith in Him that we are reconciled to God. If your daughter or anyone in your family has not surrendered their life to Jesus, we urge you to pray for their salvation. For "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and trust in Your sovereignty. We lift up this family to You, Lord, and ask for Your divine intervention in their lives. We pray for the daughter, that You would draw her close to You, that she would delight in Your Word and walk in Your ways. Remove any ungodly influences from her life, Lord, and break any chains that bind her to sin or unrighteousness. We declare that she will not be led astray but will be firmly rooted in You, bearing fruit for Your kingdom.
Father, we ask that You would prepare a godly spouse for her, a man who loves You above all else and who will love her as Christ loves the Church. May their relationship be a reflection of Your love, built on trust, respect, and mutual submission to You. We pray for healing and restoration in this family, Lord. Mend what is broken, bind up their wounds, and replace every hurt with Your love. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
We rebuke the enemy’s plans to divide and destroy, and we declare that no weapon formed against this family shall prosper. We trust in Your goodness, Lord, and we know that You are making all things new. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your name be glorified. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to continue standing on God’s promises and trusting in His timing. The Lord is faithful, and He will complete the good work He has begun in your family (Philippians 1:6). Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep believing that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). May He richly bless you and your family as you walk in His ways.
