We join you in bringing this relationship before the Lord and we appreciate your heart for your girlfriend's salvation and your willingness to surrender this to God's will and to ask for peace and acceptance if restoration is not His plan.

We want to speak the truth in love about relationships as God designed them. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God ordained from the beginning, Genesis 2:24 and Matthew 19:6. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be viewed as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, not simply companionship or romance. Scripture calls us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and this is why her salvation is the most important need you mentioned. If she does not yet know Christ, we pray first for her soul, and we encourage you to consider whether this courtship can honor God and move toward a Christ centered marriage. We also want to gently and lovingly address purity. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage in this relationship, God calls that fornication and calls us to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to let marriage be held in honor among all and let the bed be undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If that is part of your story, we encourage you both to repent, to receive God's forgiveness, and to pursue purity from this day forward, trusting God to restore and bless what is surrendered to Him.

We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by that name we pray, and it is by that name your girlfriend can be saved and your relationship can be truly restored in a way that honors God.

We pray together for you both now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in this relationship. We lift up this young woman to You and ask for her salvation, that she would hear the gospel, believe on Jesus, and be born again. Draw her to Yourself and make her a new creation in Christ. For our brother, we ask for wisdom and discernment to seek You first and to trust Your perfect plan, Romans 12:2. If it is Your will to restore this courtship, we pray You would restore it on a foundation of faith, purity, and a shared desire for godly marriage that honors You. Make this relationship one that seeks to glorify You in all things. If it is not Your will to restore it, we pray You would grant him and her Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7, and give grace to accept Your good and perfect plan, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love God, Romans 8:28, and that Your thoughts and plans for us are for peace and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Help them both to walk in holiness, to flee temptation, and to pursue righteousness together or apart as You lead. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray for her salvation above all else, to stay in the Word, to seek godly counsel from mature believers, and to commit your future marriage to the Lord whether it is with her or with a godly wife He has prepared for you in His timing. Trust that God loves you and desires what is best for you, and He will give peace as you surrender every part of your heart to Him.

Thank you for sharing this honestly with us. We can hear how much you care for your girlfriend, and also how sincerely you want to want what God wants, even if that means letting go. Holding both of those desires at once is not easy.

Your heart for her salvation is a beautiful thing to bring to God, and it is something you can continue to pray for regardless of what happens with the relationship itself. And your prayer for peace and acceptance if restoration is not His will shows real humility and trust.

In this season it can help to have a little space to listen well. We encourage you to keep bringing both requests to the Lord simply and regularly, and to walk with one or two trusted, mature believers who know you and can help you discern next steps with wisdom and clarity. You do not have to sort it all out alone, and having steady community around you can make it easier to hear God and to stay at peace whatever He leads.

Father, we lift this brother and his girlfriend to You. We ask You to draw her to Yourself and to show her Your grace and truth. Give him wisdom, calm, and a clear sense of Your leading for this relationship. Where there has been hurt, bring healing, and fill him with Your peace as he trusts Your good will. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

We have received your request and have lifted it before the Lord with care and with earnest desire for His good and perfect will in your life and in hers.

We join you in praying above all for salvation, for that is the greatest need of every soul. The Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed. Salvation is by divine grace through faith in Christ Jesus alone, by looking unto Him and being saved. It is not by our works or our feelings, but by trusting wholly in the Person of Christ, who Himself is our salvation, who bore sin and vanquished death and whose blood whispers peace within. We pray that you both would look unto Him and be saved, that you would depend upon Him without fear as to your present and eternal salvation, and that she especially would be brought to know Him, for there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. We pray that God would work in you both to make you seek, for you shall find, to make you knock, for the door shall be opened.

Concerning your relationship, we want to pray in a way that honors the Lord and seeks His wisdom. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. For this reason we do not ask God to simply bless or restore a relationship as it was if it has been outside His design, but we do ask Him to lead you both into what is holy and best. We pray that He would give you a clear mind and a pure heart, that He would help you to honor Him in your affections and actions, and that if it is His will for you to walk together toward marriage, He would make that path plain and keep you in purity and in counsel with godly pastors. If it is not His will that you continue together, we pray He would give you grace to accept His providence and to follow Him faithfully where He leads.

We also hear your desire for peace and acceptance, and we pray that the Lord will keep you in perfect peace as your mind is stayed on Him, because you trust in Him. This peace is a present possession which Christ gives even when duties press, when sorrows surge round, and when loved ones are far away. In Jesus keeping we are safe, and they are safe. We pray that whether He restores this earthly relationship or calls you to another path, He would restore unto you the joy of His salvation and uphold you with His free Spirit, that you may know that heavenly peace which remains even in the midnight of this world of care, and that you would find rest in doing the will of Jesus.

So we pray: Lord, have mercy and save. Bring her to faith in Christ and strengthen his faith. Lead them both in holiness. Let Thy will be done in this relationship, and grant perfect peace to a trusting heart, through Jesus Christ our Lord.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
