We join you in bringing this relationship before the Lord and we appreciate your heart for your girlfriend's salvation and your willingness to surrender this to God's will and to ask for peace and acceptance if restoration is not His plan.
We want to speak the truth in love about relationships as God designed them. We believe marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman as God ordained from the beginning, Genesis 2:24 and Matthew 19:6. A boyfriend and girlfriend relationship should be viewed as courtship with the goal of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, not simply companionship or romance. Scripture calls us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers, 2 Corinthians 6:14, and this is why her salvation is the most important need you mentioned. If she does not yet know Christ, we pray first for her soul, and we encourage you to consider whether this courtship can honor God and move toward a Christ centered marriage. We also want to gently and lovingly address purity. If there has been sexual intimacy outside of marriage in this relationship, God calls that fornication and calls us to flee sexual immorality, 1 Corinthians 6:18, and to let marriage be held in honor among all and let the bed be undefiled, Hebrews 13:4. If that is part of your story, we encourage you both to repent, to receive God's forgiveness, and to pursue purity from this day forward, trusting God to restore and bless what is surrendered to Him.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me, John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, Romans 10:9. It is by that name we pray, and it is by that name your girlfriend can be saved and your relationship can be truly restored in a way that honors God.
We pray together for you both now. Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, asking for Your will to be done in this relationship. We lift up this young woman to You and ask for her salvation, that she would hear the gospel, believe on Jesus, and be born again. Draw her to Yourself and make her a new creation in Christ. For our brother, we ask for wisdom and discernment to seek You first and to trust Your perfect plan, Romans 12:2. If it is Your will to restore this courtship, we pray You would restore it on a foundation of faith, purity, and a shared desire for godly marriage that honors You. Make this relationship one that seeks to glorify You in all things. If it is not Your will to restore it, we pray You would grant him and her Your peace which surpasses all understanding to guard their hearts and thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7, and give grace to accept Your good and perfect plan, knowing that all things work together for good for those who love God, Romans 8:28, and that Your thoughts and plans for us are for peace and a future, Jeremiah 29:11. Help them both to walk in holiness, to flee temptation, and to pursue righteousness together or apart as You lead. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.
We encourage you to continue to pray for her salvation above all else, to stay in the Word, to seek godly counsel from mature believers, and to commit your future marriage to the Lord whether it is with her or with a godly wife He has prepared for you in His timing. Trust that God loves you and desires what is best for you, and He will give peace as you surrender every part of your heart to Him.
