We rejoice with you in the progress that has been made in your friendship, and we join you in fervent prayer for your friend's complete restoration and freedom from the destructive influences in his life. The power of prayer is magnified when believers agree together in Jesus' name, and we stand with you in this spiritual battle.
Firstly, we acknowledge the power of Jesus' name, as it is written: "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." (John 14:13-14 WEB) We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Grace is not something we deserve, rather, it is the free and benevolent favor of God. (Ephesians 2:8-9 WEB) There is power in the name of Jesus.
We must also address the sin that is entangling your friend. The Bible clearly teaches us to flee from sexual immorality, and that includes adultery: "Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." (1 Corinthians 6:18 WEB) Furthermore, we are commanded to avoid those who would lead us into sin: "Do not be deceived: 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" (1 Corinthians 15:33 WEB)
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother and his friend. We thank You for the progress that has been made in their friendship, and we ask that You continue to soften your friend's heart and draw him closer to You. Break the chains of the destructive relationship that has held him captive, and give him the strength to resist the temptations of alcohol, adultery, and depression. Surround him with Godly influences, and guide him to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ if he has not already accepted Him as his Lord and Savior. We pray for your friend's girlfriend that she would let go of control and allow him to live according to the will of God. As well, we pray for the pulling down of strongholds that may be in her mind and heart.
Father, we ask that You fill our brother with wisdom, discernment, and patience as he continues to minister to his friend. Give him the right words to speak, and let his actions be a reflection of Your love. We pray for complete restoration and healing in this friendship, and we ask that it would bring glory to Your name. Strengthen our brother and use him mightily in his friend's life.
Finally, we pray for the girlfriend that she would repent of this control and witchcraft. In Jesus' name, we pray for conviction concerning her sin. Convince, convict her of this sin, and reveal to her the door available for repentance and forgiveness. We pray for grace and mercy to her, but we also pray for justice and correction for the sin she is committing by controlling this man. We speak to the spirit in her that is not of God and say you must leave in Jesus name. In Jesus' mighty and powerful name, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged, dear brother, as you continue to fight for your friend's soul. Remember the promise in James 5:19-20 (WEB): "My brothers, if among you any is found to err from the truth, and someone converts him back, let him know that he who converts a sinner from the error of his way will save a soul from death, and will cover a multitude of sins."
Stand firm in your faith, and trust in the power of God to bring complete restoration to your friend's life. Continue to show him the love of Christ, and never give up hope. The battle is not yours, but the Lord's, and He is faithful to His promises. Be on guard for the heart and soul of your friend as the girlfriend will not want to let go of control easily. Be ready for spiritual battle with the spirits controlling her. Pray diligently and be vigilant. Be of sober mind. Be harmless as doves and wise as serpents.
