Restoration of broken relationship

Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you in this season of separation and financial need. We are bringing your situation before the Lord and asking Him to work in your life according to His wisdom and mercy.

What is most on God’s heart for you right now is not just the circumstances around you but your relationship with Him. He does not want a formal or ritual connection with you where you try to earn His favor by routine or effort. He wants a close, loving relationship as a Father with His child. Jesus taught us to pray, Our Father in heaven, and that is the kind of intimacy He invites you into, to know how deeply He loves you and to love Him in return with your whole heart, not in a half hearted way.

Scripture shows that your relationship with God is primary. It is the center upon which everything else turns. When that vertical relationship is right, the other relationships and areas of life begin to come into balance. When it is out of order, other relationships struggle as well. Often the difficulties we experience with others can be traced back to our need to first be restored to God through Jesus Christ. He alone is the way of salvation, and through His broken body on the cross provision was made for our healing and restoration. He was not broken in the sense of bones, for not one of His bones was broken, but His body was broken in suffering for us so that what sin had separated and shattered could be healed.

That is why fruit in life is the natural result of relationship, not of striving under rules. When you are made alive in Christ and walk with Him in the Spirit, the love, faithfulness and obedience you long to see begin to grow naturally, not because you are trying to earn standing before God, but because Jesus has already given you standing before God.

Your relationship with others, and especially the most important human relationship of marriage, is meant to be strengthened by your relationship with Jesus. God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, and He designed intimacy and sharing a home to belong within that covenant. For that reason we will not simply ask God to bless any relationship as it is, but to lead you into what honors Him. If this partner is your husband or wife, we pray for healing of the covenant, for forgiveness, humility and reconciliation where possible. If you are not married, we pray that God will give you clarity and grace to seek Him first about His will, to pursue purity, and to consider marriage according to His design if you are to continue together, rather than living outside of it.

We also hear your burden for employment and finances. Your possessions and provision belong to the Lord and are entrusted to you, and He knows your needs. When your relationship with Him is right, you can trust Him to provide and to teach you to steward what He gives with wisdom.

So our prayer for you is this. That you would come more deeply into that loving, intimate relationship with the Father through Jesus Christ, turning from any sin that has separated you from Him and receiving His forgiveness. That He would heal what is broken in your heart and give you a wholehearted devotion to Him. That He would give you wisdom regarding this separated relationship, to do what is right before Him, to love with compassion and courtesy, not returning evil for evil, and to seek reconciliation only in a way that honors His covenant design. And that He would open the right door for employment and provide for your financial needs as you seek first His kingdom and His righteousness.

If you have not already, bring these matters to Him daily in honest prayer, stay in His Word, and walk in obedience to what He shows you. He is faithful to lead those who seek Him with their whole heart. We are continuing to pray for God’s restoration in your life in the way that brings Him glory and brings you into deeper fellowship with Him.
