Beloved of All
Your heart for your children is heard, and the Lord sees the heaviness you are carrying for your family. Thank you for bringing this burden so honestly before Him and for surrendering your daughters to His care. We join you in prayer for restoration, freedom and protection.
We pray that God would open your older daughter's eyes to see clearly what you are seeing. A relationship that is marked by manipulation, control, dishonesty, division and isolation is not reflecting the love of Christ. Scripture shows that God designed intimacy and the sharing of a home to belong within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Living together outside of that covenant is outside of His good design, and it often brings confusion, hurt and entanglement rather than security and peace. We pray that she will have courage to step away from what is harming her, that every ungodly tie that has formed would be broken, and that she would choose what honors her faith, her family and her future. We ask the Lord to expose what is hidden, to make truth plain, and to give her strength to walk in it, and we pray that this young man would also be led to step back, to return to his own home and to recognize he is not ready for such a relationship.
The Word reminds us that God knows how to deliver those who seek to walk righteously, even when they are vexed by the way of life around them. Lot's story shows how hard it is to live close to a polluted way of life and not be touched by it, and how moral corruption can spread into a whole family. That is why Scripture calls God's people to come out from among what is unclean and to be separate, not out of pride but for protection and for holiness. We pray that your daughters would hear that call to separation, not as a rule to follow but as an invitation back into a close, loving relationship with Jesus. God does not want a distant or ritual relationship or a half hearted walk where we are neither hot nor cold. He wants a whole hearted love, a return to first love where we find our worth, our purpose and our peace in Him. When that vertical relationship with God is restored, other relationships begin to come back into balance. You can often trace strained family relationships back to a strained relationship with Him, and when we return to Him He begins to heal what is broken between us and others.
We pray for that healing in your home. We ask the Lord to restore your daughters' sense of worth and purpose in Christ, to heal the brokenness between them and their siblings, and to renew a spirit of honor within the family. God places great importance on the honoring of parents and on love within the home, and we pray that gratitude would replace ungratefulness and that respect would replace disrespect. We especially lift up your son. The Lord sees him as a blessing and a precious gift, and we ask for a hedge of protection around him from every harsh word, spiritual attack and attempt to isolate him. May the Father wrap him in calm and peace and let him know deeply how loved and valued he is. And may your daughters' eyes be reopened to see their brother as you have always taught them to see him, with love and delight, not as a burden.
We also pray for your younger daughter, that she would not be swayed by pressure to make an unwise move she cannot afford, and that she would have wisdom to discern negative influences and to stand firm against them. We pray that your older daughter would find her way back to fellowship with her church home, where she can be fed with knowledge and understanding and surrounded by people who will point her to Jesus.
We will continue to pray that the spirit of division, isolation and ungodliness would have no place in your home, that truth would prevail, and that the Lord would bring your family back to His Word and to each other. He is able to restore what has been torn and to bring calm where there has been turmoil. Keep looking to Him, keep praying, keep loving your children with truth and grace, and trust that as you seek Him first He will work for their good and for His glory. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
