We hear your heart and we join with you in Jesus' name to seek the Lord for His peace to rest upon you and for this spirit of restlessness to be lifted.
The Word reminds us that true rest is found in Christ alone. Jesus says in Matthew 11:28-30, Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. We know that God did not create us to live in constant agitation or unease, for as it is written in 2 Timothy 1:7, For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. Restlessness can often come from anxieties, cares of this world, or spiritual oppression that seeks to steal the peace Christ has already given us.
We encourage you to bring every anxious thought before the Lord and to fix your mind steadfastly on Him. Isaiah 26:3 promises, You will keep whoever's mind is steadfast in perfect peace, because he trusts in you. And in Philippians 4:6-7 we are exhorted, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Jesus Himself assures us in John 14:27, Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, give I to you. Don't let your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. We also cling to Psalm 46:10, Be still, and know that I am God, and Psalm 62:1, My soul rests in God alone. My salvation is from him.
We pray together now for you.
Heavenly Father, we come before Your throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are our refuge and our rest. We lift up this dear one to You who is wearied by restlessness. In the name of Jesus we rebuke and command any spirit of restlessness, anxiety, and turmoil to leave and to have no place. Fill this heart and mind with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to cast all their cares upon You, for You care for them. Quiet their soul as they wait upon You, teach them to be still before You, to abide in Your presence, to meditate on Your Word day and night, and to trust You fully with every burden. Restore calm, clarity, and deep rest in Christ, and guard their heart and thoughts in Jesus Christ. Let Your Holy Spirit bring power, love, and self-control, and let sleep be sweet and waking hours be filled with Your stillness. We ask that You lead them into Your rest and renew their strength. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in the Word, to turn off distractions that feed restlessness, to bring every worry to Him with thanksgiving, and to rest in the finished work of Christ. As you keep your mind stayed on Him, He will keep you in perfect peace.
