We come before the Lord with your two concerns, lifting them up in prayer and seeking His wisdom and healing. First, regarding your restless leg syndrome, we know that physical afflictions can often be tied to deeper spiritual or emotional burdens. The Bible reminds us in Psalm 38:3, "There is no soundness in my flesh because of your indignation, neither is there any health in my bones because of my sin." While not every ailment is a direct result of sin, we encourage you to examine your heart before the Lord, asking Him to reveal any areas of unrest, unforgiveness, or anxiety that may be manifesting physically. We also pray for your physical healing, trusting in the Great Physician who declares in Exodus 15:26, "I am Yahweh who heals you."
Father, we ask You to bring relief to this dear one’s body. Calm the restlessness in their legs and grant them peaceful, restorative sleep. Reveal to them any underlying causes, whether physical, emotional, or spiritual, and lead them to the right solutions, whether through medical care, prayer, or repentance. Strengthen their faith to trust in Your healing power, knowing that by Your stripes, we are healed (Isaiah 53:5). We also pray for wisdom in their self-care, that they may honor their body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
Now, regarding your courtship, we must address this with both compassion and biblical truth. While it is natural to care deeply for someone, we are called to align our relationships with God’s design for marriage, a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). The age gap itself is not inherently sinful, but the disapproval of your family is a significant concern. Scripture instructs us to honor our parents (Ephesians 6:2) and to seek unity in the faith (2 Corinthians 6:14). If your family’s concerns are rooted in wisdom, perhaps regarding maturity, shared faith, or long-term compatibility, we urge you to prayerfully consider their perspective.
More pressing, however, is the need for this person to be freed from false teachings. The Bible warns us in 2 Timothy 4:3-4, "For the time will come when they will not listen to the sound doctrine, but, having itching ears, will heap up for themselves teachers after their own lusts; and will turn away their ears from the truth, and turn aside to fables." If this individual is entangled in false doctrine, it poses a serious threat to their spiritual well-being and, by extension, any potential marriage. Unequally yoked relationships, where one partner is not firmly rooted in Christ, can lead to spiritual conflict and heartache (2 Corinthians 6:14-15). We must pray fervently for their deliverance from deception and for their eyes to be opened to the truth of God’s Word.
Lord, we lift up this courtship to You. If this relationship is not in alignment with Your will, we ask You to close the door gently but firmly. Soften hearts, including those of this dear one’s family, to accept what You have ordained. If this person is not the one You have chosen for them, reveal that truth clearly. We pray for the salvation and sanctification of this individual, that they may be set free from false teachings and come to know You more deeply. Guard this one’s heart from idolatry, placing a relationship above You, and help them to seek Your kingdom first (Matthew 6:33).
We also rebuke any spirit of rebellion or disobedience that may be influencing this situation. The Bible tells us in Proverbs 13:1, "A wise son listens to his father’s instruction, but a scoffer doesn’t listen to rebuke." If there is any ungodly influence at work, we command it to leave in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against this one’s spiritual walk shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
Above all, we pray that you would draw closer to Jesus in this season. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6), and it is His name alone that brings salvation (Acts 4:12). If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life fully to Christ, repenting of any sin and trusting in His finished work on the cross. The Bible says in Romans 10:9, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." This is the foundation for all healing, wisdom, and godly relationships.
We stand with you in faith, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). May His peace guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7), and may His will be done in both your health and your relationships. We trust that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ (Philippians 1:6). Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
