Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing your heart and allowing us to pray with you. It is good to give thanks that God hears our prayers, and we join you in bringing these needs before Him in the name of Jesus.
For restful sleep, remember how a shepherd in that land would make an enclosure of thorn bushes for the flock at night, with only one opening. The shepherd himself would lie down in that opening, so nothing could come in and nothing could go out without passing over him. Jesus said He is the door for His sheep, and that picture is a comfort for the night. When you lie down, He is there at the entrance of your life, watching over you. His word also is given to keep you when you sleep and to speak to you when you awake, for His commandment is a lamp and His law is a light. Even when exhaustion overtakes you, as it did Jacob when he lay down alone and dreamed of a ladder reaching from earth to heaven with the Lord at the top, God can meet you and remind you that heaven is open above you and He is near.
For protection, that same shepherd presence is your safety. No harm comes near except through His care. Scripture tells how a deep sleep from the Lord once fell upon an entire camp that had come against David, so that no guard could stay awake to do harm. The Lord is able to cause those who would threaten you to be unable to touch you while you rest. You can dwell safely and even sleep in peace because He keeps watch.
For financial provision and for your medical treatments and surgery, we are reminded that God has already made the greatest provision for us through His only Son, who is the one way for forgiveness and peace with God, and the Spirit bears witness to our hearts of this truth. If He has so graciously provided for our eternal need, we can trust Him to care for our daily needs as well. He has promised showers of blessing in their season, and He often leaves room within His law and His ways to work according to His desire to heal and to help. He sees the burden of bills and the anxiety that comes with medical care, and He is able to provide what is needed and to guide the hands of those who treat you.
We pray with you now that the Lord will grant you deep and restorative sleep, that He will cover you and your household with His divine protection day and night, and that He will supply every financial need for your treatments and surgery. May He give you peace as you rest in the Shepherd who lies at the door, confidence in the One who watches while you sleep, and trust in the Father who has provided so fully for you in Christ and who still pours out blessing upon His children. We ask this in the name of Jesus, trusting His care and His power to work on your behalf.
