We join you in lifting this request before the Lord, for respect is a godly desire when it is rooted in humility and a heart that seeks to honor Him above all. The Scriptures remind us that our true identity and worth are found in Christ, not in the opinions of others. As it is written in **1 Peter 2:17**, *"Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king."* And in **Romans 12:10**, we are called to *"outdo one another in showing honor."* Yet, our ultimate respect must first be given to the Lord, for it is He who defines our purpose and value.
Your prayer also seeks to fulfill all that the Father asks of you, which aligns beautifully with the words of Jesus in **John 4:34**: *"My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to accomplish his work."* This is a heart posture we all should strive for—seeking not our own glory, but the will of God in every place He has placed us. Remember, too, the encouragement in **Colossians 3:23-24**: *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You serve the Lord Christ."*
However, we must also consider that respect from others is not always guaranteed, even when we walk in obedience. Jesus Himself was despised and rejected (Isaiah 53:3), yet He remained faithful to the Father’s will. Our focus must remain on pleasing God rather than seeking the approval of people. If you find yourself struggling with feelings of being undervalued or overlooked, take heart in **Galatians 1:10**: *"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."*
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who seeks to be respected for who they are in You. Lord, You are the one who formed them in their mother’s womb, who knows their every thought, and who has called them by name. We ask that You would surround them with Your favor as a shield (**Psalm 5:12**) and grant them the respect that comes from a life lived in obedience to You. Remove any spirit of pride or self-seeking from their heart, and replace it with a deep hunger to fulfill Your will in every area of their life.
Father, where they have been overlooked or dismissed, let them find their worth in You alone. Strengthen them to walk in humility and confidence, knowing that their labor in You is never in vain (**1 Corinthians 15:58**). Open doors for them to serve and lead in ways that bring glory to Your name, and let their life be a testimony of Your faithfulness.
We rebuke any spirit of rejection or insecurity that may try to take root in their heart. Let them stand firm in the truth that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (**Psalm 139:14**) and that their identity is found in Christ alone. May they walk in the assurance that You, Lord, are their rewarder (**Hebrews 11:6**) and that their ultimate respect comes from You.
Equip them with Your wisdom, discernment, and courage to accomplish all that You have called them to do. Let them be a light in every place You have planted them, reflecting Your love and truth to those around them. We ask that You would go before them, making their paths straight (**Proverbs 3:6**), and that every step they take would be ordered by You.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus we pray, **Amen.**
Stand firm in your faith, knowing that the Lord sees your heart and will honor those who honor Him (**1 Samuel 2:30**). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (**Hebrews 12:2**), and trust that He will complete the good work He has begun in you (**Philippians 1:6**). If you ever feel discouraged, remember that even Jesus faced opposition, yet He entrusted Himself to the Father who judges justly (**1 Peter 2:23**). You are not alone in this journey—we are standing with you in prayer and faith!
