We join you in lifting up this heavy burden before the Lord, for He is the God of justice and the defender of the oppressed. It is right that you come before Him in the name of Jesus Christ, for Scripture declares, *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). We are grateful you have called upon His name, for it is only through Christ that our prayers are heard and our needs met.
The Word of God speaks clearly to your situation. Colossians 3:23-24 reminds us, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ."* Yet this does not mean you must endure mistreatment or exploitation. The Lord sees the injustice you face, and He commands employers to act with fairness and integrity. *"Masters, give to your servants that which is just and equal, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven"* (Colossians 4:1, WEB). What your employers are doing is not only disrespectful but also contrary to God’s design for just labor and dignity in work.
We also recognize the Christlike heart you display in praying for them even as they wrong you. This reflects the spirit of Jesus, who said, *"But I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you"* (Matthew 5:44, WEB). Yet loving them does not mean remaining silent in the face of injustice. There is a time to speak with wisdom and boldness, as Scripture encourages: *"Open your mouth for the mute, in the cause of all who are left desolate. Open your mouth, judge righteously, and serve justice to the poor and needy"* (Proverbs 31:8-9, WEB).
We urge you to take practical steps guided by the Holy Spirit. If possible, document instances of unfair treatment, unpaid wages, or disrespect, and seek counsel from a trusted believer or legal advisor who can help you address this biblically and lawfully. The apostle Paul, though content in all circumstances, also asserted his rights when necessary (Acts 16:37). You are not a slave but a child of God, redeemed by Christ, and deserving of respect as one made in His image.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring hardship and disrespect in their workplace. Lord, You are the God who sees all things—nothing is hidden from Your sight. You know the long hours, the unpaid wages, the harsh words, and the lack of dignity they have suffered. We ask that You intervene mightily in this situation. Softening the hearts of these employers, convicting them by Your Holy Spirit of their unjust actions. Cause them to see this beloved child of Yours with the respect and value You have placed upon them.
Grant our brother/sister wisdom to know how to respond—whether in humble dialogue, through proper channels of accountability, or by seeking new opportunities where their labor will be honored. Provide for their needs, Lord, for You are Jehovah Jireh, our Provider. Let no weapon formed against them prosper, and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned (Isaiah 54:17). Strengthen them with Your peace, reminding them that their true worth is found in Christ, not in the approval or mistreatment of man.
We rebuke the spirit of exploitation and disrespect in the name of Jesus. No longer shall our brother/sister be treated as less than Your beloved child. Restore what has been stolen—whether wages, dignity, or peace—and let justice roll down like waters (Amos 5:24). May this situation bring glory to Your name, whether through reconciliation or deliverance.
Finally, Lord, we pray for these employers. Though they have acted unjustly, we ask that You would open their eyes to their need for You. May they encounter the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and turn to Christ in repentance. Use even this difficult season to draw all involved closer to You.
We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we thank You in advance for the victory You will bring. In the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm in your faith, dear one. The Lord is your advocate, and He will not leave you defenseless. *"The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble"* (Psalm 9:9, WEB). Keep seeking Him, and do not lose heart. If this workplace does not change, trust that He is preparing a better path for you. *"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future"* (Jeremiah 29:11, WEB). Walk in obedience, and He will guide your steps. We are standing with you in prayer.
